  1. Duensing is very solid for the Cubs.
  2. No. Kulber sounds like a soft-tossing lefty who would be no-hitting us right now.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but his FA is based on service time not time on the 40 man roster. Yes, if they call him up now and he stays up the rest of the season they would lose a year. But Polanco is coming back. So using Gordon for 3 weeks or a month will not lose a year of control. It will just burn an option which should not be an issue.
  4. I know but he was fine at AA and AAA is a small sample size. Polanco is back in 3 weeks or so. It won't hurt to give him a long look.
  5. Mackey and Judd were discussing the other day and basically said Buxton's struggles are in part because cares too much is over-thinking at the plate and Sano's because he doesn't care enough and just wants to weigh 300 pounds and spend his career swinging for the left field fences. I think that is the difference.
  6. They've infected Kepler as well.
  7. I'd rather have Plouffe up here than Taylor Motter.
  8. They just need to call up Nick Gordon. He can play SS. Escobar at 3rd. Adrianza on the bench as God intended.
  9. It was time on Sano. It's also time on Grossman. Honestly, what is the argument for keeping him around? The season is circling the drain and honestly how much worse can Gordon, Wade or Carter do? Just continuing to grind with the same line-up when Dozier, Kepler and Grossman who have no shot is madness.
  10. Put Reed on the DL. Something is broken, either mentally or physically. Hildy should be the 8th inning guy period. And get Grossman tf off this team already and get Wade or Gordon up here.
  11. Current OPS: Cave 1.000 Rosario .903 Escobar .901 Adrianza .748. Kepler .747. Dozier .717. Sano .693 Morrison .647 Grossman .647 Garver .639 LaMarre .623 Wilson .510
  12. The offense is still putrid. Get Dozier tf out of the lead-off spot. On the all too frequent days Grossman plays, at least bat him lead-off. Try Adrianza there. Or get Gordon up here. I'm not sure what to do with Kepler. Maybe try him in the 2 spot. Get Dozier down to 5-6.
  13. Santiago was hot garbage and we scored 2 runs off him. This offense stinks. Do something to change it up.
  14. This offense is still so bad with Dozier, Sano and Kepler struggling. Get Carter up here and either release Grossman or give Kepler some AAA time. And get Gordon up here for Petite. Mauer's not coming back anytime soon. Wade would be nice as well. We can't keep grinding with this lineup.
  15. I can't help but feel like Falvine let their ego cause us to kick away a winnable game tonight. No guarantee we win with Slegers, but he certainly would have given us a better chance.
  16. Escobar might stay in the $8-10 range. I don't think Dozier will unless he doesn't pick it up the second half like normal.
  17. I'd rather offer Escobar an extension and trade Dozier if we're not in it at the deadline. I think 3 years at $12-15 per year would get it done and that is reasonable to me. Dozier will cost more and is less valuable IMO.
  18. Eddie is the man. How is Reed's ERA only 3.03? He's given up HR's in his last 15 appearances. At least that's how it seems. Joe Vavra got bailed out on that brutal send of Adrianza in the 8th. The guy was fielding the ball about 20 yards away and you send him? And how do you not PH for Garver for Wilson afterwards?
  19. Sure it does. How often does a team trade a player away and then re-sign him? I can think of once in 30 years: Rick Aguilera. If you trade him, there's a 98% chance he's not on your team next year.
  20. Grossman is not a good 4th OF'er and his 2017 #'s .246/.721 are close to his career average. But I wouldn't call that a league average hitter. It's pretty obvious that 2016 was the aberration for Grossman, not 2018.
  21. vs. LH: Ramirez OPS: .854; Grossman .631
  22. Seemed like a given that Sleggers would get the chance after his outing in KC. Kind o sucks for him, but it will be interesting to see what Littell can do.
  23. Get Wade up here. Get Carter up here to DH until (if) Mauer comes back. Or get Gordon up here and DH Sano. And for God's sake get Dozier out of the lead-off spot.
