  1. That is a miniseries waiting to happen. Or at the very least, a Lifetime movie. 🌵
  2. I just threw up in my mouth a little at the sloe gin reference... 😅🤢
  3. In meetings all day. Checking in periodically to watch them p*ss this one away, too. 👍
  4. I'll take any chance I can get to flog that one. I will never forgive them for the Louie thing. Never.
  5. LH corner outfielders are one thing, but we seem to be trying to corner the market on mediocre, slow, defensively challenged LH corner outfielders.
  6. That's what I've been thinking lately. But I agree, I think their hand is forced now. It's tough, because once he's on, there's no taking him back off. My new guess is they call up maybe Wallner and ERod, rather than taking the risk for next year. But from the injuries, and the effort and results of this road trip, this team is cooked for the year.
  7. Comes that whimsical time of year of most Septembers in Twinkie-land where boys and girls of summer have to start locking in their secondary teams that will still be playing base-ball in the autumn. The Cubs are always my go-to, since I lived about 4 blocks from Wrigley after leaving the Cities. For the AL, I'm going to go against my very DNA and start rooting for the White Sox. I'd love to see a Red Line Series. Heck, I'd even go back there to catch it. (Caveat: of course, literally anyone other than NY, Bos, LA, or any Texas or Florida outfit.)
  8. I'm gonna make a call here... Walker Jenkins tracks that ball down.
  9. What?!? They're taking out Warren Spahn?!? What are they thinking?
  10. Byron finding ANY kind of stroke with guys on would be a blessing.
  11. JHC, Kreidler. WtH Keaschall. I guess consistency is important. If you're gonna suck at the plate, might as well suck in the field too. Two of the most little-league throws I've seen all year. Call it, Zoll. Get the kids up here, hell, might as well get Wallner back up if you want. This team is not ready for a playoff run. Time to start working toward next year if there is one. Hells bells, there's even the lamest "At the Plate" segment: Food truck row! Gee whiz! A hot dog! Wow! Krinkle cut fries! Krinkle cut, d6is you hear me?!!
  12. Good grief, I wonder if Brooks is still salty about not being SS anymore. That's the SS ball, and you need to listen to him call it and give way. It's like he didn't learn anything from that bonehead play at 3rd the last time. That said, yeoman's work by Zebby tonight. I wonder if the BP can hold the lead this time........
  13. Re: KC throwing to 3rd-- To quote the immortal movie "Major League": "Nice catch Hayes...." And you know the rest.
  14. Yet another pathetic effort, wasting a heroic one. So many chances to add on, and everybody knew we were gonna need it. Cripe, Morris doing his best Eric Orze-Justin Topa impersonation, and insult to injury, key hit by Ty France, of all people, who truly sucked during his time in the TC. P-p-p-playoffs? Cue Jim Mora. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK3Jx2yvtVE
  15. Yeh, OK, Mr. Company Line. The fact we we really need a competent CF, and have scored runs at a Football World Cup pace since the Break don't factor, I guess. He and Culpepper should have been a promotion package.
  16. Ha ha ha, we swept dem Braves! Thank you SheIty, for not posting a get-away day lineup! Heh... The best past of that box score was "Kreidler PH-2B!" Is this past week a microcosm of the Twinkies' season or what? After looking so hapless and hopeless against the Phils, they come back and battle their tails off and sweep the Bravos. After the way last season ended and this one began, I was definitely in the horror train to hell faction, but now I'm happy to ride this little rollercoaster til September. Go get 'em, boys.
  17. He sort of became closer by default with the moribund crew we had early on, but wow, he's really grown into it.
  18. Wow- Taj looking good early! Now let's get the bats going, I smell a sweep! Let's goooooooooooo! And we have lift-off! 😂
  19. Ha ha, couldn't happen to a better club! I hope he pitches every bit as well for them!
  20. Just a reminder that guys like Tristan Gray and Eric Orze are still in the 40-man.
  21. So, I turned out to be a nervous Nellie in that 9th inning, but sheesh! 🙄 And it turned out ok, because even TC Bear won the Great Mascot Race after the game. 🐻. 👍
  22. Welp, here we go again, actively trying to lose a winnable game. Great job by the bats in the 8th, inauspicious start for the 'closer' in the 9th.
  23. Why do they do this to us? Thought I could have breakfast and watch this historic game, but noooooo...... Mlb has to stream it on yet another app that some folks don't have. I hate this. Paid my $$$ for mlbtv as always, and get shut out, this time by not having netflix?!? They've got all the $ in the world, including mine, and they need to grub more? Fortunately Phils radio has a couple of guys who know some adjectives and are describing what I paid to be seeing. Mlb, bite a fart!
