  1. Wow, Esco- a great play. Only wish, somehow, that it made up for the brain fade on that relay throw. But still, a great play.
  2. Ouch! That looked like a pretty gnarly stinger Kepler got in the corner there. Well, I guess we can put ABW in for the last couple of innings. Oops, I guess not. Thanks, Rob/Molly and co.
  3. Just a thought, and a query-- has the technology been evolved to the point that we can create a hybrid catcher? Like Centeno's left handed bat, and Zuke's blocking of balls in the dirt? And then we can get an arm from... um... aw heck, I dunno.
  4. Dozey to 3rd. Polanco to 2nd. Sano, occasionally 3rd, and DH. Vargas DH/1B, and maybe Park can shake some of those cobwebs and do a spell at 1B, too. There. Fixed the infield, now getting to work on the starting pitching. ----let me just ask my consultant, Sysiphus, and get back to you on that.
  5. I also saw James B whiff on that throw from Dozey, and Esco not cut off the misbegotten relay. I hereby withdraw my claim of awesomeness-inspiration. And as I typed that, I saw Centeno do what he just did- twice. Sheesh.... that was probably me too. I'm going back to class now. For Heaven's sake, this team....
  6. Zoinks! I just check in on a class break in time to see young Bux tag that tater. It must have been me, to account for that awesomeness.
  7. I have beaten this drum (or dead horse) since last year. While Molly was one of my favorite all time players, he's not been a good manager, in any sense, and most egregiously in his handling of the youngsters, which is what this woeful season should have been all about since that first early slide. The lineups pulled out of a hat, players making bone-headed decisions "on their own," playing guys in crucial positions or batting order based on reputation rather than performance, it's just been a nightmare of a season, but the same signs and behaviors were there last year as well. Hm. The one Twinks game I actually watched recently included Dougie M in the dugout as a "September call-up." Hm, again. As others have posted, I hate seeing someone lose their job, but at least in this case, it's kind of cushioned by having made millions as a player, and a comfy retirement ahead.
  8. Our season in a nutshell. All is well.
  9. Seems Canucks are not the only ones getting in on the act-- more inning-break fun: http://www.cartoonistsleague.org/2015/02/

  11. North, in your honour- and since the Twinks are in our usual lose-the-game-as-best-you-can mode- here's an amusing anecdote: http://dangerousminds.net/comments/bank_of_canada_urges_star_trek_fans_to_stop_spocking_their_fivers
  12. Nice to be able to say that once in a while. Gosh, when he's on, it's great. But seems he's so rarely 'on' like that.
  13. I so rarely check in these days, but wow- a 9th inning lead, that's nice! And the red-neck is in to close it out. Jeepers creepers, can't Buddy B stay out of the sun a little? Looks like that hurts! SPF 50 or greater, man!
  14. I'm not sure if Molly may be confused between 'infields' and 'infidels.' That may be a consideration. Perhaps he's thinking in a more metaphysical sense. Or- perhaps it's just more of the non-sensical sense that's been a Twins hallmark since he took over in the dugout. Kind of like the Logan Schafer-over-ABW kind of thing.
  15. Whew. And good on ya, Brandon-- don't argue with Kennys.
  16. Well. There's that, then. Oh, Eddie.
  17. Refresh me- did Kinztler pitch in the 8th tonight, too?
  18. Nice foul ball snag by Bartman over there.
  19. Oooh, back from class just in time for that-- good on ya, Esco! You can put it on the boooooooooard--- YES! Don't stop now, boys! Oops, sorry, wrong blog.
  20. Bux does it all by himself. Thanks, Kid.
  21. Somehow, slightly more faith in this leadoff double than the last one. Or am I deluding myself?
  22. Bringin' the lumber... This could be a good strategic move- kind of an inverse-parabolic-pseudo-counter-intuitive kinda thing. Instead of giving up a run as soon as your team scores, giving up a run as soon as your team squanders a leadoff double, and doesn't score-- so as to show your own hitters how they should be doing it? Make sense to anyone but me?
  23. Coupla productive outs there. For the Royals.
  24. Ah, well. Gibby gives up the lead. Script seems to be playing along nicely. But wait-- up comes Robbie G, Esco, and Weapon X- a veritable "Murderee's Row." What could happen next?
