  1. Yeah I preferred taking the 21 year old development QB over 24 year old Bo Nix and still stand by that. The biggest issue I have is they didn’t have to rush him into action. He should have been on the bench all of this season and maybe even next season too.
  2. This is what I can’t wrap my head around. How did a group of NFL coaches see McCarthy at OTAs/minicamp with this poor of fundamentals and say yep, QB 1 without a doubt? And then have zero urgency finding a backup solution?
  3. It’s just a little too convenient to announce this the day after the Vikings played the worst 2nd half of football in years right? *Puts on tinfoil hat*
  4. All of this is adding up to pulling the plug on McCarthy after this year. If you're performing terribly, and can't stay healthy, there's not much to work with here.
  5. The 3rd injury this season alone that was reported after the game. Missing yet another week of much needed practice. It’s all adding up for him.
  6. In the NFL you can finish with the 2nd worst record in the league and end up in the NFC Championship game the following year with a good draft class/free agency. That’s nearly impossible to do in MLB.
  7. Because it’s the only thing that drives sustainable success. If you can’t draft, which Kwesi can not, then you’re doomed for this roller coaster we’re on winning 13 games followed up with a 10 loss season.
  8. Apples and oranges comparison. NFL is a year to year business. MLB is a slower burn.
  9. The Rams, even when trading away their 1st round pick every year, manage to find 10 starters in the mid rounds since 2022. Kwesi has 1 starter from the mid rounds (Nailor).
  10. It’s not a higher standard. We expect to have a good draft class every now and again. Kwesi’s drafts have been awful from day 1.
  11. Normally I would say 6 games isn’t a big enough sample size. But when your performances puts you in the same tier as the worst QBs in team history and one of the biggest draft busts of all time JaMarcus Russell… 6 games might be enough to know this isn’t going to work.
  12. I guess we should be used to it as MN sports fans, but there are few things worse for football fans than meaningless games in December. We will see just how strong the internal culture is now... Team success is out the window, and players will be looking to pad their own stats for the next 6 games. I have to assume there's a growing divide in the locker room... The defense has to be pissed that the offense can't sustain any drives, leaving them on the field for way too long. The WRs have to be pissed that McCarthy can't get the ball to them on time or accurately.
  13. I thought every prospect was in the innovative Falvey Pitching Program? They’re referred to as bulk pitchers now. Forget this starting and bullpen jargon
  14. I would feel bad for Myles Garrett but he was the one who accepted the bag from Cleveland and didn’t stand on principle when he requested a trade
  15. Stafford to Adams in the red zone is automatic TD
  16. My preference was keeping Darnold at the franchise tag at the very least, if not a similar contract he signed in Seattle. Then after he was out of the picture, I wanted Rodgers, who also wanted to play here for cheap.
  17. Lots of ego went behind that decision. IMO Kwesi pushed the idea of moving forward with the rookie contract QB roster build. I think KOC was skeptical given their flirtations with Darnold, Danny Dimes, and Rodgers last offseason. He can't be that blind to see how McCarthy looked in OTAs/private workouts and think yep, he needs to start immediately.
  18. CeeDee Lamb with cast iron skillets as hands when it matters most.
  19. It's not ideal when your young, supposed franchise QB has stats that align with some of the worst QBs in Vikings history, and all time draft busts like JaMarcus Russell.
  20. Famous last words... 21 unanswered points and tie game. What is it like to cheer for a team with an offense?
  21. Plenty of runway to get the record this year... Incredible player
  22. Congrats to Kirko for looking competent against the lowly New Orleans Saints today
  23. In MLB news... Interesting swap of future bad contracts. TEX trades Marcus Siemien to NYM for OF Brandon Nimmo.
  24. KOC could call up his mentor McVay and talk about the challenges of building a young QB... And he'll laugh and say "No s***, that's why I traded for Matt Stafford."
  25. The biggest impact that can be made is drafting and development. This team desperately needs cheap young talent from the draft. It shows up every week how little depth we have. We have a good opportunity with up to 10 draft picks for 2026, but the issue still remains the guy making the picks.
