  1. his FIP is 4.63. His xFIP is 5.16, and for those who like ERA, it is 5.23. For me, he has been horrible.
  2. It's helps that, going into today, he has gotten almost 5 runs a game of support (4.88 to be exact, which is slightly less than he's given up a game). Only 14 qualifying starters in baseball have gotten more. He's been horrible, regardless of how well the team around him has played in order to keep themselves in the game.
  3. Tonkin came out of high school, Melotakis had 3 years of college ball. So yeah while your point is true, it's not unusual for college draftees to get to the majors quicker than high school players.
  4. Comey isn't much of a politician, but I don't think his motivations were ever anything other than doing his lawful duty.
  5. Let's hope NLT mid June. Best Father's Day gift ever!!!!
  6. Also, a memo has come out that Comey wrote after a meeting with Trump in February that says Trump asked Comey to let the Flynn investigation go. And he briefed senior FBI officials right after too, so this isn't a 'Comey just wrote the memo after being fired thing'
  7. Republican lawmakers joined their Democratic colleagues in seeking additional White House information, including records such as tapes or recordings, to assist their investigations. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer declined multiple times Monday to say whether the president would cooperate with Congress. Lawmakers have asked for information about whether Trump has a taping system and used it to capture conversations without the knowledge of others since his inauguration. "The president has nothing further on that," Spicer said. Democratic lawmakers have asked the White House in writing for any tapes of Trump conversations with Comey, plus former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who was fired Feb. 23, as well as Russians Lavrov and Kislyak. Republican senators, reacting initially to Trump's mention of "tapes" in relation to Comey, and later to Monday's reports about the president's conversations with Russian officials, predicted any tapes or digital recordings, if they exist, are unlikely to be kept away from public scrutiny.
  8. BTW, this year Ervin Santana's FIP is 4.17, his xFIP is 4.49, he has 6.83 K/9 and has a BB/9 of 3.50. And, well, he has a ridiculous 98.4% LOB% along with an incredible .128 BABIP. If people want to think he's an ace because of his ERA, well, he's got a great one.
  9. I think the REAL point is we have too many #5 types. When the phrase, 'He's not bad for a #5 starter' can be said about the majority of your rotation, THAT is the problem.
  10. So the highly classified intel Trump gave to our adversary, Russia, was obtained from Israel. I am sure Israel will be thrilled since Russia has Iran as an ally and all.
  11. He's building up, but we haven't seen him do anything...yet. We know it's there, though.
  12. There aren't any menacing bad guys, or at least we haven't seen any yet.
  13. Breaking News! http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-revealed-highly-classified-information-to-russian-foreign-minister-and-ambassador/ar-BBBaWuJ?li=BBnb7Kz President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former U.S. officials, who said that Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State. The information Trump relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said. The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said that Trump’s decision to do so risks cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and National Security Agency. “This is code-word information,” said a U.S. official familiar with the matter, using terminology that refers to one of the highest classification levels used by American spy agencies. Trump “revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.” ---Later it says 'For most anyone in government discussing such matters with an adversary would be illegal. As president, Trump has broad authority to declassify government secrets, making it unlikely that his disclosures broke the law.' Ok, But if he declassified the secrets that haven't even been shared with allies, why did his team take steps to contain the damage?
  14. definitely. still better than most things on TV, but definitely weaker.
  15. they have showed him standing next to people who claim to be 6'3" or an inch taller and he doesn't seem to be 6'3", but I'll take your word for it.
  16. So apparently Trump is 6' 3" and 236 pounds. I question the height and he hasn't seen 236 in probably 20 years. His doctor said during the campain that if elected, Trump would be the 'healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.' Trump doesnt believe in exercise. He thinks we have a finite amount of energy. You know, like a battery.
  17. Yeah, last week I bought tickets to see the Iowa Cubs and Salt Lake Bees this past Saturday. Really wanted to see Happ. And that was the day he got promoted. If I had gone Friday night, I would have seen him go 3-5 with two SB.
  18. Speaking of $10 hamburgers, I had a couple great ones at Lucky 13 in Salt Lake City yesterday (well, actually half of one, half of the other. My buddy had the other halves). One had homemade smoked mac n cheese on top of the patty, the other had house-smoked bacon, grilled black forest ham, sauteed onions, cheddar and swiss cheese and Lucky 13 sauce. Best place to get a burger in the state, but you must be 21 years old to go in.
  19. post-hoc argument in conjunction with a preconceived notion. :-)
  20. I was going to ask the same thing :-)
  21. Got to help a friend move. Enjoy the game. GO TWINS!
  22. yeah, I watch her on MLB Network, but it's not the same.
  23. The Twins have steadily been lowering our expectations (what we consider acceptable)for years.
  24. That bat of Sano is just awesome. It's must see TV. Joe getting called out on strikes like he has the last few days is very frustrating (even if a couple strike 3s weren't actually strikes).
