  1. and there you have it. Twins closer...
  2. Gardy?
  3. Love Fangraphs but don't need them to see all the great plays being made.
  4. yeah, because defense on our favorite team construction is an afterthought, if even considered important at all?
  5. I sometimes wonder, though, was defense just as good then and we didn't know it because we got much fewer games, saw way fewer highlights, etc? I mean, we had the game of the week and Braves games on TBS. Way less exposure to what was going on around the league.
  6. I think of Ozzie as an 80s shortstop myself. My favorite part of the game is defense and for a defense fan, this is about the best time in my lifetime as a baseball fan.
  7. I agree about Brooks (Arenado is just wow), but I still think Ozzie is the best I have ever seen.
  8. I think it's hard to trade someone when you don't want and/or don't try and trade someone.
  9. Not sure about Escobar, but Ahmed, Seager, Hechavarria, Jose Iglesis. Its truly the age of quality shortstops.
  10. I'll take Correa and maybe Bogaerts. Perhaps Crawford.
  11. Did any reporter call them out about having only two position players on the bench? I know if one tries really hard and looks at things at a certain angle cause they really want it, they can come up with why that was defensible, but it really wasn't.
  12. I predicted 78 wins before the season started.
  13. yeah he still looks pretty bad out there.
  14. The level he looks like he's playing while on defense and on base (on the rare occasion he is on base) is the major league level.
  15. I thought Murphy was supposed to solve Minnesota's catching dilemma.
  16. How many position players on the bench today?
  17. If you go by by plate appearances not at bats. 24Ks in 49 PA. That's a hair less than 50%. Either way, horrible for sure.
  18. too early for post of the game?
  19. To me it showed that the FO was looking at surface stats instead of digging deeper. (kind of like what they did with Santana when giving him a starting job last year after an unsustainable 2015).
  20. I was going by plate appearances not at bats. 24Ks in 49 PA. Either way, horrible for sure.
  21. 'Three-Bagger: Duffey's Debut, Struggling Starters & Catching Depth' We have catching depth? :-) Two catchers on the 40 man roster and not one catcher who should be starting at the major league level.
  22. A feeling based on what? Cause he looks completely lost at the plate.
  23. Our offensive struggles are bad for sure, but considering this team is pretty much the same team that was last in the AL in OBP and 13th in OPS last year, the offense not being good isn't a surprise. And yeah, it's also not a surprise the bullpen is bad (though, for me, May's struggles are surprising).
