    I believe you totally misread what I said. I am not at all dismissing Lee's progress, but rather praising it. And saying that it is entirely possible that Lewis takes similar strides over the the next month. And not saying I hope the Keaschall gets where Lee is now but hoping he doesn't go where Lee was a month ago. Ya never know what's gonna happen. Guess that's why they play the games.

    I think his future lies at 3B. Lewis at 1B, Culpepper at SS and Keaschall at 2B. Laminate the card.

    Don't think anything was said about him being such "at this point." Maybe this is a swing and a miss but i tend to think that 137 professional plate appearances might be a little to early to expect a fella to have proven anything.

    Which probably means you think that if new ownership comes in they'll spend like drunken sailors. I hate to burst your bubble but barring MASSIVE changes in the CBA that's just not happening. Do you REALLY see massive changes coming? Do you see the Dodgers, Mets, Phillies, Yankees & Blue Jays agreeing to the changes that would be needed to make a significant difference? If you do get back to me about some very special investment opportunities I'd like to run by you.

    I wouldn't worry too much about 2027. Might be LOTS of of folks getting all the rest they need.

    If the power is elite, I'm fine with that. It's not like the guys we've spent years rolling thru the the DH sport have put up stand out numbers. Might be nice to pencil a professional hitter onto the lineup card in that spot and laminate it.

    Of course you CAN say these injuries wouldn't have happened if they were already called up. It would be bogus to do so but you certainly can. Why not? AND why aren't they already called up. Let them be the new Hrbek & Gaetti. Bring Gonzalez along to be Bruno. Yeah, I know, Herby & G-Man were corner infielders and all three of these guys are outfielders. I don't care. Make one of them a first baseman. We just want a reason to watch.

    Jenkins 3 doubles last night. Wallner two HITS in the last 18 days. I'm not great at math but.......

    You might be right that Wallner would not have caught that ball and, yes, you are taught to keep that ball in front of you. But it's not like Miguel Sano was playing RF. As soon as that ball landed it was very obvious that it wasn't going anywhere. As an experienced big league right fielder you gotta read that and have a sense about it. This is the same guy that earlier in the year we saw not only misplay a ball but actually KICK one. It might well be true that Wallner would not have caught that ball. BUT, there is a very distinct possibility that someone else might or would have and maybe it's time for someone else to get that shot.

    I'm not comparing Wallner to any of those guys. I'm saying they are right handed hitting corner outfielders who could be on the trading block at some point in the next four months. And that we should be doing every thing we can to acquire at least one right handed hitting corner outfielder so that at some point, when (ok, IF) Rodriguez and Jenkins get here we don't have to use both of them against some of the tougher left handed pitching.

    As far as Martin goes, if it ain't broke, don't break it. As far as Larnach / Wallner go, every plate appearance they get is one that Rodgriguez / Jenkins / Gonzalez don't get. Which set of guys is going to lead you back to contention, the one that hasn't or the one that hasn't, YET?

    I think either one would fetch a RH hitting OF capable of making a couple of starts a week. Not expecting a closer or even a high leverage reliever. Just need to find the right team that needs left handing corner outfield help. Astros (Jake Meyers); Phillies (Adolis Garcia); Pirates (Bryan Reynolds if they wanna open the checkbook) all fit the profile.

    Hope is not a strategy that successful teams are built on. Depth is. Half dozen middle infield types among the Twins top 30 prospects is comforting in that regard. No more than one of them likely to be ready in the next year gives him time to work things out. Here's "hoping" he does.

    get him here. trade Wallner or Larnach for a right handed compliment for when we don't want to have both Rodriguez and Jenkins face a tough lefty.
