  1. Marwin Gonzalez is essentially Miguel Sano, except he has more defensive versatility, he doesn't strike out as much, and he has a lot less power. In high leverage situations, Marwin has a .648 OPS and 80 wRC+; Sano is at .728 and 83. Also, has anyone checked in the offshore magnetic boot prison lately? It would seem that one Rocco Baldelli might have had his visage stolen.
  2. Jimmy Soul differs vociferously with you on point 2.
  3. I don't get the fascination with Bauer. His FIP and xFIP are the worst they've been since 2015, his k rate is down, walk rate is up, and his hard hit allowed % is the highest it's ever been. His FIP is 41st among qualified starters, and xFIP is 44th. He's a decent piece, but when you take into account the premium you probably will have to pay for the intra-division trade, I'm just not that interested.
  4. But the MLBTR post does have additional info. It has a breakdown of the entire Twins bullpen, as well as going far more in depth on the potential targets (LEN3 literally provided zero stats for any players not already in the Twins system). An aggregator is someone who simply collects and posts links in a single post--while MLBTR does some of that from time to time, they also provide a lot of original content that often builds in significant ways on the original content they are piggybacking. I would deem it much more fair to label MLBTR an Analyzer, rather than an Aggregtor.
  5. Um, you realize that in the first sentence of the MLBTR piece, the link to LEN3's article was included, right? They actually got to it faster than you did, and then wrote 700 words of analysis. While MLBTR definitely starts from a source, moreso than attempting to "break" stories, they are hardly an aggregator.
  6. He has a 6.21 FIP in 43 AAA innings this year. Offense needs to make this easy for Berrios tonight so he can just worry about throwing strikes, and not striking guys out.
  7. Do not mess with wrist injuries. I would so much rather Buxton (or any other player, for that matter) sit out an extra couple of weeks and get to 100%, than try to play through discomfort. With a deep roster and a large lead, allow your guys to be healthy.
  8. I wish Garver had struck out there.
  9. Um, 1. It's been 1 game since they hit a homerun.
  10. I wasn't aware the Rangers series was moved to New York, thanks for the heads up.
  11. Trevor May in June has a 5.58 FIP, and is walking 5.5 batters per nine, while striking out less than 8, and only inducing 12% soft contact. Harper in June has a 5.48 FIP, and is only inducing 10% soft contact.
  12. It is. You really feel better about any of the other options?
  13. I mean, to be fair to Rocco, his other options right now are Harper, Littell, Magill, Morin, and May. Which one of those do you think is a clear-cut better option?
  14. I haven't seen his birth certificate or driver's license or anything, but I think you're being facetious here. I don't know, maybe his name really has been CronEXCLAMATION POINT! this whole time.
  15. Not sure why they didn't let Wade give it a try there.
  16. I've seen this here multiple times, but never the reason why; perhaps you can explain. Are you aware his name ends in an "n", not an "m"?
  17. Because they have so many reasons to feel good about themselves?
  18. I'm a big fan of Arraez, but good teams shouldn't give up quality players for nothing. Arraez has definitively proven that he is the 26th man, so unless you think the Twins will have 0 position player trips to the IL the rest of the year, you send Arraez down rather than DFA Adrianza. Especially when you consider that in 86 PA's after May 1, Adrianza has gone .315/.407/.466/.873, with a 132 wRC+ and .7 bb/k rate.
  19. Buxton ready-->Cave goes down Marwin ready-->Wade goes down Adrianza ready-->Sano or Arraez goes down
  20. .657 OPS, 72 wRC+, 28.2% k rate, 3.5% bb rate, .302 babip since May 27.
  21. .533 OPS in High Leverage this year, according to fangraphs, .659 for his career.
  22. I wish Schoop had struck out or bunted there.
  23. Astudillo would definitely get sent down before Sano.
  24. I would bet a lot of money that the Red Sox will finish this year with a better record than the Rays.
