  1. I've got him clocked at 1991, but I'll admit a margin of error.....anyways, who's counting. Great article!
  2. Do you have Pressly's vertical release charts from 2016? It would be interesting to compare that chart as well.
  3. Parker, Would you say that it's a modified cutter grip?
  4. This is what I want our roster of quality starting pitchers too look like (am I asking to much?)
  5. Injuries, pitching depth, regression...., I doubt highly the Twins land both of these guys, but I'm not opposed to signing both (and although they are expensive, I don't think it would dampen signing more relief pitching). I actually don't see too many other places the Twins need help other than pitching, pitching, pitching....besides, we already have some crazy options for a new third baseman...
  6. Didn't see the game tonight, but I did get to run through this thread....I regret nothing...
  7. I get your thoughts, but as life-line bad outfielder, it's incredibly difficult to pull up on a ball you can catch so you don't get hurt (in fact, I've always thought it bad ju-ju to even think about a letting a ball fall). If you can get it, get it; otherwise, you start to think too much when going for a ball (you kind of need to operate on instincts and let it fly to get to the ones others don't get". But I can see your point (I've also run head on into a fence in beer league softball, so what do I know)....
  8. It's poker time Falvine, if you had a fair deal on the line, and everyone was satisfied (not saying happy here), then a leak happens/"other parties are interested", don't increase your offer.....you call that bluff every time. Incidentally, this sounds very familiar with the Dozier trade talks when all of the sudden other teams were interested (when likely only the Dodgers were)....
  9. One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them him; the ants {cough, Mauer} will soon be here up. And I for one welcome our new insect overlords Mauer hitting cleanup. I’d like to remind them all that as a trusted TV personality (local yokel), I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves (Brock's basement).”
  10. Mauer is hitting cleanup....against a lefty? Is April third the first Monday after April Fools Day so we're officially recognizing April Fools today? Um paging Parker, paging @ParkerHageman.....does the front office stand behind this lineup?
  11. I've taken a couple hours off work since about 2008 to watch the opener in the closest watering hole to my house with my wife. This year I'm staying at work. You're all welcome in advance.
  12. In times of great need, when we are at our darkest night, it sometimes takes one voice, one man to stand up and call the great unwashed powerful a bunch of lickspittles..... Man I loved this entire thing, and my Friday at work started so craptacular.... Thanks David (please stick around, come for the nachos, stay for the crazies....)
  13. More amateur assessment: If you relax your pinky and push fairly hard with your middle and ring finger, your picky tends to push out....at least mine does
  14. As a whole (and I feel comfortable speaking for the whole here) we've seen quite a few marginal (sub-marginal?) veterans make the team in the past couple years. I thought for sure Vogelsong was making this team....maybe this is a positive change for a new management.
  15. Yeah, but what happens when you exclude the first inning home run he always gave up
  16. I think Granite is too valuable (potentially) to sit around as a 4th outfielder. I think he is Polanco/Rosario/Kepler/Grossman insurance. You put him in AAA, and see what happens in the first few months at AAA/the bigs, and go from there. He's got talent, but I'd want to see a bit more at AAA and see what the other 4 do, for now.
  17. I tend to agree, but I don't know if I'll take Boof Bonser's word for this
  18. Dear All, Take heart. At one point in time, these were our top prospects: www.minorleagueball.com/2007/11/13/16825/333 (edit, link doesn't want to work so, here was John Sickels thoughts in 2008): Tyler Robertson, LHP, Grade B+ Anthony Swarzak, RHP, Grade B Ben Revere, OF, Grade B Eduardo Morlan, RHP, Grade B Jeff Manship, RHP, Grade B Trevor Plouffe, SS, Grade B- Brian Duensing, LHP, Grade B- Oswaldo Sosa, RHP, Grade B- Jose Mijares, LHP, Grade C+ Mike McCardell, RHP, Grade C+ Chris Parmelee, OF, Grade C+ (disappointing in '07 but young) Danny Valencia, 3B, Grade C+ Ryan Mullins, LHP, Grade C+ Jay Rainville, RHP, Grade C+ Deibinson Romero, 3B, Grade C+ Alex Burnett, RHP, Grade C+ David Bromberg, RHP, Grade C+ Nick Blackburn, RHP, Grade C+ Erik Lis, OF-1B, Grade C+ Zach Ward, RHP, Grade C
  19. http://www.twinkietown.com/2017/2/3/14496470/twins-sign-veteran-pitcher-article-template I'm just going to leave this here....
