  1. The Twins waited one too many games, and now his trade value is shot.
  2. 5. False. The Viking win the Superbowl the day after I die. You're welcome Minnesota.
  3. Harry Doyle: [Deduno is coming out to pitch] So, here is Sam Dedunothe one they call the "Wild Thing". So, he sets and deals. [Deduno throws a wild pitch] Harry Doyle: Just a bit outside, he tried for the corner and missed. [Deduno throws another wild pitch] Harry Doyle: Ball 4. [Deduno throws another wild pitch] Harry Doyle: Ball 8. [Deduno throws another wild pitch] Harry Doyle: Low, and he walks the bases loaded on 12 straight pitches. How can these guys lay off pitches that close?
  4. Anyone watching want to describe the issue with Perk?
  5. Someone tell me that Gameday's pitch tracking is way off, and it isn't this bad? Please?
  6. LNP is the working man hero of every no-size, all-hustle sports enthusiast. He made us believe that hard work can make a MLB player, and head first slides, don't forget the head first slides.
  7. Caption: Willingham: "You got this, right? Hicks, you there....Hicks....Aaron? [Hicks catches the ball] Willingham: "Oh thank God"!
  8. Turning off computer, leaving work to get the kids....you're all welcome for me staying until the time at which I am allowed to leave by my fifteen bosses (and thanks for the great game thread).
  9. Has Hawk left the broadcast booth yet?
  10. Sooooooo, if the Twins were winning until I got in my car yesterday to drive home, does this mean I have to stay at work? Also, my work colleagues have had a first person view of sports biopolar-ism.
  11. Small sample size rules are in play, but the Twins wanted to send Cola to Korea?
  12. There is nothing worse than listening to Hawk, other than when the Sox blow it, then it's fantastic.
  13. Uggghhhhh, Quintana is on pace for an 18K game, I'm feeling more and more like this guy....
  14. I'm married, so this is me in a nutshell
  15. Good luck AJ! Thanks for the glimpse into your thoughts.....if you have children, the little ones spend the better part of your life reminding you how to live.
  16. http://i.imgur.com/977SOqW.gif
  17. Oh yeah, and he's also a former Yankee, so I'll be fighting the knee-jerk reaction to boo........
  18. It's not a neck beard; we are not impressed.
  19. I think Pinto in any other system (ignoring his 2013 September) gets much more attention. Projections (Oliver, Steamer) have him around .255/.318/.400. I feel like this is a conservative estimate if you are projecting 2015 on. In short, I'm bullish on him....but feel (some) regression in 2014 is inevitable (BABIP inspired statement). I'd take him on that basis.
  20. This thread is painful, right?
  21. I'd be willing to make signs that read: "I respect your achievements in baseball, but you're a Yankee and therefore will be summarily booed." I'm pretty sure it's in our contract as Twins fans to boo the Yankees (albeit in good nature). It's right above the clause that provide the White Sox suck, and right below the clause about feeling sorry for Indians fans.
  22. I boo the Yankees as I would the Russian professional wrestler (if I watched professional wrestling). I also boo Gophers Hockey, cause, it's Gophers Hockey.
  23. Read the title of this article [threw desk over], read first line of article......[calmly spent the morning picking up around the office]. Terry Ryan, making it rain?
  24. I understand your sentiments, but Joe would have received more from other teams. The offer was fair considering the market, and if they wanted him, they had to pay. I really believe the decision comes down to just that. Quite frankly, with free agents I believe teams take all these factors into account (whether publicly or not) and it comes down to whether you will outbid the other person. It's kind of like a charity auction I was at a while back and bidding on a Kent Hrbek signed ball. Was the ball worth the cash for the people bidding (short term, hell yes), but in the long term maybe I'll see Kent in a bar sometime....
