  1. This is much more amusing if you are picturing the vegetails characters saying this.
  2. Back on topic. Sickles giving some love... http://www.minorleagueball.com/2015/6/18/8804727/twins-prospect-max-kepler-breaks-out-in-double-a
  3. I was honestly surprised they brought him up, but on the other side, it's not like there was someone there blocking him like there is for Sano. I think Buxton is going to spend the rest of the season up here. I realize he cannot hit curves well, but they put him on the 40 early. They would be silly to burn an option on him this season.
  4. I don't see him at the parent club this year, but I'd think if he keeps destroying AA as he has that he'll be in Rochester at some point.
  5. This is tough. I think Rosario is due for some regression as while he's done well, his peripherals say that he's going to have to make some adjustments (particularly in the plate discipline area). I suspect Arcia will get another shot this year, but yeah, he needs to clean things up. In my ideal world, I would want an OF of Rosario, Buxton, and Kepler/Arcia with Kepler playing a lot of 1B and Arcia getting some time at DH, but with the Mauer situation as it is, I don't see it happening. I agree Arcia is on his way out with the club, but right now, his value isn't too hot. I could see him being part of a change of scenery swap with a C/SS type high ceiling guy who hasn't put it together (assuming one exists), but I'd rather his bat heat up and he force his way back on to the roster.
  6. If it's going to be like football, they should get rid of the catcher all together and eliminate stolen bases. That's something silly the NFL would consider. That said, I hate interleague play. /EndRant.
  7. I don't care what they do with him as long as it involves putting him back in the rotation at some point.
  8. I'm not sure the Sano Schwarber comps work for one obvious reason. The cubs don't carry a DH. Schwarber is up right now because he can hit and their bench options aren't good options. Not sure how this is the fault of the Twins for not doing the same when we have Vargas there, who also needs to learn major league pitching. I fail to see how dumping Vargas for Sano would be good at all in the long term for the Twins. It might satisfy a few impatient folks, but at the end of the day, I don't think our DH production is going to change much from Vargas to Sano (it might actually drop since Vargas has been doing well at a higher level and has major league experience).
  9. As a general rule of thumb, do not print your photos in a 3D printer.
  10. I'd say that their record at the end of June will answer a lot of these. Wouldn't be surprised if come July they start trading off pieces in favor of some more kids. Then again, a hot streak in the next week or two and I wouldn't be surprised if they are trading some kids in favor of some useful pieces.
  11. yeah, Wimmers has really come around of late... And Walker was 1-4 with 3Ks. Nice HR, but not that good a night otherwise.
  12. I think this means that Hicks is officially a 4th OF. My guess is Schaffer or Robinson is gone.
  13. Don't have a problem trying. He was quite lights out as a reliever. That said, I suspect Berrios will head up shortly and Oliveros will go back to the pen. Meyer has been doing better lately too. It could be just to keep the spot warm for him.
  14. Sounds like Ryan will be busy flipping some of the lesser talents for international dollars.
  15. Baring an injury or some major regression, Walker strikes me as a no brainer to hit the 40 this fall. That's fine as he'd be starting in AAA and have 3 options. Plenty of time for him to figure things out and get the occasional call up. The mistake would be adding him now and then optioning him.
  16. Well, the truth is out there Agreed that production matters. I don't think anyone disagrees. The question at hand is how that production will translate at the ML level. I think you assume it will continue (or at least, that's how it comes across). Most of the prospect folks on this site are pretty excited about Walker (myself included). The real issue is whether or not he can be productive at the ML level, and most of us don't see that issue as solved. Sure, he can hit a mistake pitch a country mile. But those mistakes drop significantly as you move up the chain and the ability to exploit a hole in his swing or entice him to offer at pitches he has no business offering on go up as well. Walker would likely K in 40-50% of his at bats at the ML level with no walks to go with it. That's not good.
  17. I'm guessing they had a deal in place with Jay in advance. I wouldn't be surprised if the savings is a bit more than 200k. It's quite possible they put guys like Jay/Allard against each other and picked the one they knew they could get a decent below slot deal.
  18. Anything over a certain amount (100k I think) counts against the draft pool, so that only works if you go underslot for someone else.
  19. Mciver, Anthony U San Diego (CA) LHP L/L 5S -- 6'5" 210lbs DOB: 04/08/92

  21. Mimicing the Cards here. They love getting good college hitters from decent baseball schools.
  22. Stashak, Cody St. Johns (NY) RHP R/R JR -- 6'2" 180lbs DOB: 06/04/94
  23. They are org filler at this point, so not too concerned. If the bat can play up, they'll get a job somewhere, even if it's a trade to another team, so I don't necessarily mind.
