  1. Suzuki just stopped Grossman in the dugout and asked what happened? Zuke hasn't seen anyone thrown out stealing lately!
  2. I had always thought you were in your 60's!
  3. My brothers neighbor lady was doing that, she was cross pollinating with a friend, until her husband came home from work early one day.
  4. Park could have a big night with this slow stuff
  5. And unless there was enough land to go around, not easy to get started in. To get into farming today at a size that would allow you a chance to survive, I bet 2M easy.
  6. From what I read, and was told Germans in WW1 were often shunned and they themselves were torn between loyalties. They faced the same disdain and distrust that the Japanese did in WW2 and currently afflicts another group in this era.
  7. Well let's see: 12 x 60% = 7.2. Or does that only work for the speed limit up there?
  8. Lucky you, poor Jim is stuck in his suite, with apparently not even a chaise lounge to rest in, wondering why all, well used to be all, those people want the team to win. Carl must be rolling in his grave, JHC boys, I thought I told you never to talk to the press! Not even the little ones!
  9. #4 The Over Draft. For our first house, my dad co-signed for the downpayment at one bank, and we borrowed the money for the rest of it at another bank. The Monthly on the DP loan was due, and things weren't going well. I walked in and asked the clerk, "what's the absolute least I need to pay" she said $20.00. I reached deep and came up with the very last twenty dollars in my possession. That left me completely broke, and not just on paper. That will cause some sleepless nights.
  10. I thought it was in poor taste for Brian or mention the editor. Up until now most had considered that the rambling incoherent musings he puts forth on a several day schedule were the product of his own, obviously pharmaceutically altered brain. (I use the word brain in its clinical tense). Now we find he has an editor, a mentor. It makes one shudder to imagine what could be, without such a filter to screen us from the original "thoughts". (I use the term "thoughts" with apology to Mr. Webster and his book).
  11. And left you money so after a night out on the town, you could post bale!
  12. How does this sound. The FO finally trades Dozier, puts EE at SS, and Nunez at second? .
  13. I would work off the concept of whether Nunez will end up as my best utility player option. He might be. If I don't think he is, then I trade him. But I would not make the decision based on his being an IF starter. His inevitable regression will make that a poor basis for trade value. But if someone has a need, and comes calling, I would probably pull the pin.
  14. For me it would be Nunez, solely for his bat. You watc a guy like Lindor play short, and it's not fair to say we have a SS. That is not really a knock on Munez, he plays hard and to his ability.
  15. So why is that usually the way? Because the FO won't stick it's neck out to make a change? Monetary? Incorrect talent assessment? In essence this formula leaves an underachieving healthy team intact indefinitely!
  16. Quick question, take out injuries and how many of the Twins youth would be playing regularly on the ML team? Replacing injured players with another player is not constructing a roster, it's plugging holes temporarily.
  17. I hate to mention Reusse on here, it drives people nuts, but yesterday he said the rumor ar the park is 20% discount if you renew season tickets in August?
  18. Good piece. And all basically relevant. The sad part, for me and I imagine quite a few others, is the hopeless feeling that virtually nothing significant will be done. Everything you have listed is valid and needed. But nothing in this owners or FO history allow optimism that any of the following will take place with enough impact to change the face of this team drastically: 1. Trading beloved vets. See Dozier, Suzuki, and add Nunez, Grossman, Escobar. Plouffe might be the exception, and if he doesn't go, the rest of your article is bird cage lining. 2. Eat contract money. The big three SP. And if things don't change, I would add Park. If that's the kind of hitting it takes to get to thirty solo HR's, I will pass thank you. 3. Introspection. I can look in the mirror everyday, and think I should get a haircut! I can tell my wife, "I need a haircut". I can even issue a press release. But until I go to the barber, my hair is still gonna be too long. The best the optimist in me can do is hope what you wrote happens. The pessimist in me thinks little will.
  19. My wife was in the room, she cares a bleep about football. I said hes gonna miss this kick. She said how do you know? I said it's the Vikings! That's what they do!
  20. Yes, and next week, er month, we will again! .
