  1. A hot dog, split, with some cheese in it, and wrapped in bacon. Kinda like pigs in a blanket without the blanket. Yummy. But I am surprised that no one has mentioned the epitome of gastrological excellence. I trip to the local convenience store for one of those tasty dogs off the roller machine. Wrapped in one of those fresh week old plastic wrapped buns from the drawer underneath, and a couple packets of Heinz ketchup squeezed unto your shirt. So tasty!
  2. We will need 14 pitchers soon
  3. Frankly I would have agreed with her!
  4. How long can it take to hit a ball over the fence, and run around the bases? Now if both teams were doing it, .............
  5. why would you want to do that to the MiLB forum?
  6. "That iceberg doesn't look that big" Edward John Smith
  7. I would go for Dee Gordon's instead!
  8. Dick is explaining why Meyer got jerked. Lol, I wonder if they hand out talking point memos, or does he make this up?
  9. I so want to say something snarky, but Chief has forbidden such talk!
  10. I always wondered what happened to Auntie Beru!
  11. On a semi related issue, watch the difference in the way Murphy and Suzuki catch the same pitch. I know the end result flys in the face of my observation, but I think that more a factor of what had gone before than the framing. The pitches appear identical, the catcher set up is similar. But Suzukis glove not only wanders further off the inside of the plate, its face turns all the way toward the hitters knees. Both catchers try and pull the ball further into the zone, but Suzukis has to move further because he seems to ride inside more. I know it's only one pitch, but it was a rare opportunity to get a comparison.
  12. Kraut properly made, goes on anything. Nothing is as good as Kraut on a fresh walleye sandwich! And no, you do not take the kraut from the can, and heat it. Ugh!
  13. I have found when dealing with age and time, it's the grave consequences that eventually get you. I had considered the thought you might have already left your earthly realm, and watching the Twins was Satans cruel idea of Hell. But that would put all of us in Hades. I myself would consider such a destination well earned. But what if the innocents on here, the True Believers! Those who are sure the team will right itself, and contend for a WS flag. Certainly they don't deserve this! Such purity of heart deserves far better!
  14. Well said. This whole thing is becoming almost humorous, in a sad way!
  15. I have advocated this since last year. Why are we looking for a catcher who can hit .250 w/o power? .250, .230, .2schmirty! Just someone who can catch and throw, please!
  16. And that might quite possibly be true. For better or worse they invested a start in him, and should have played it out if for no other reason to see what his final line could have been, or not been. This isn't a defense of Meyer as a pitcher, it's a comment on managing the roster of this team, this year, with these players. It's not a one size fits all decision.
  17. It got a little ugly. Even for me, someone who did not expect the Twins to win this year. My frustration is based on the team continuing to be run like its a contender, instead of an extended try out camp for the next 6 years like it should be. As a rule, I think gallows humor should be a requirement.
  18. I did not pay attention in physics, to the point I didn't even take physics. But I thought this was really really funny! I still like the one where Newton is hiding behind the fig tree better!
  19. What the F was that about. And I don't even think Meyer was pitching well. He lets him get two outs, and brings in a lefty for a righty. He got away with it, but JHC. It takes a 16 inning game and 2 injuries to get some call ups. Let me play, we are 10 f...ing games out on May 3
  20. But do the stats differentiate from someone who is taking the ball the other way, going with the pitch.or trying to pull outside stuff, and ending up with soft fly balls in the middle. It's a completely different approach, and generally yields completely different results. With the exception of one Izard game last week, where he had I think 3 RF hits, and looked like he was trying to do so, he seems to have reverted to pull happy. In closing, if this was only from April, I would be more inclined to take luck into account. But since the league started really seriously pitching him away, he has struggled.
  21. Sometimes metrics are useful to explain something that's a mystery. And sometimes they are useful to explain something that is obvious! This case is the latter. Dozier can be one of two kinds of hitter, but he cannot be both. He can continue to try and jerk everything into the LF corner, which likely will result in the BD you now see. Good for maybe 15 smiling trips around the bases, 12 of them solos. And a ton of pop ups, and blowing up the assist numbers of SS around the league. Or he can use his fairly decent eye, and plate presence to be a ok OB hitter, fair defender, and pretty good baserunner. Once in awhile someone will throw him a cookie, and he can hit another 336 ft HR. But he can't do both. He has no natural power. And if he keeps thinking he does, what you've seen, is what you wil get. And to that you can add what recently appears to be somewhat of a lacksidasical effort at 2B. Frustration? Who knows. Anyway, as long as he tries to cover the outside of the plate by pulling the ball to left field, those soft fly balls to CF, will not be turning into line drives anytime soon.
  22. The Mendoza Line? Is that when your three hits travel a total of over 200 ft?
  23. Famous last words! "Don't worry, the gun isn't loaded", "these oil rigs are 100% safe", and "bring in Casey Fien"
  24. We solved the used to part of this! HE'S BACK!!
  25. No, and I am typing this AFTER the double!
