  1. And other ballparks....Detroit and Cleveland both win, KC ahead and batting bottom 8.
  2. While T-Mobile may favor pitchers, Seattle only has one LHP on the roster, Speier. This should work in Wallner's favor and, theoretically, sets up to be a successful return.
  3. Agreed. Lewis started this season 0-16, then 9-25, and is currently in a 0-20; great players aren't this streaky
  4. I think Bride stays on the roster until Keaschall returns, unless one of Miranda/Julien/Martin and even Gasper makes it too hard to keep them in AAA. Maybe Lewis gets a "mystery injury" and gets a 10 day IL "reset" to accommodate this also... Wallner/Buxton > McCusker/Kiersey Jr., so I don't think there is a question there. McCusker could still turn into a feel-good story...
  5. Well, @Peterdoesn't like close games, this one's on him...
  6. He's doing alright for being CB Bucknor, looking at Baseball Savant Illustrator, I only see one blatantly missed call, the called ball on Jeffers to start the game...
  7. I read on MLB,com that he (Buxton) flew with the team to Florida, I'm guessing he's cleared protocols and his getting his work in
  8. To paraphrase Who's line is it anyway? - "The stats are made up and results don't matter..." Todays game is all about metrics: spin rate, arm angle, release point, xERA, FIP, xFIP, exit velocity, launch angle, etc... not results because the results are tainted if they don't align with the expected results. A lot of current players keep getting chances because they meet or exceed certain metric standards but don't produce (the potential is there, it just has to be unlocked...) while many past All-Stars and HOFers wouldn't have been given chances because they didn't meet or exceed those same standards. Not every pitcher is a big strikeout guy and not every batter is a power hitter.
  9. If you look at FanGraphs chances of making the play-offs; DET 91.5%, MIN 69.8%, KC 47.5%, CLE 45.7%. Outside of the AL Central; NYY 96.9%, SEA 74.4%, HOU 62.8%. BOS, TB, TOR & TEX are all around 25% AL Central remaining SOS; KC .497, CLE .496, MIN .495 and DET .492, essentially a wash. With Buxton and Wallner due back shortly and Keaschall due back by July 1, I like the teams chances to make the postseason, where anything can happen
  10. Not missing those today, the only middle pitch on the edge of the zone he's not called a strike was the ball he called on the outside edge when Jeffers was hitting in the first. He's not giving either team the upper or lower edges of the zone.
  11. Well there's this; #4 hitter vs LHP - .368 OPS #5 hitter vs LHP - ,776 OPS
  12. 3 & GWRBI (but according to some SABR nerds RBI is a useless stat...)
  13. Roger Clemens gave up 16 HR to the Twins, I'd be very happy if the team gets 16 out of Kody...
  14. Vazquez's arms and shoulders show the beating a catcher takes by foul balls...
  15. Kiersey does not look good at the plate....
  16. Bride, France and Clemens - What Cleveland curse Other 27 Twins on roster - They REALLY don't know....
  17. And how do we know Cleveland is living in the Twins' heads; Ryan tightens up, Baldelli panics, and Duran let's in the tying runs....way to go fella's
  18. Ryan has pitched 6 or more innings in his 4 starts since the Atlanta implosion, and 5 innings in every start this season and Paddack has gone 7 or more in his last 2 starts and at least 5 innings in his last 7 starts. I understand Cleveland has some sort of curse over the Twins, but unless one of them implodes or Rocco overthinks things BP usage shouldn't be an issue today, especially with an off day tomorrow. I would call up a position player, but I don't know if I want any of Julien, Gasper or Miranda up at this point, even for a day...
  19. I understand that Target Field has the best available drainage and rainwater recapture systems, but there still has to be a concern about playability and players health with all of the water that has been dumped in the TC over the last few days....
  20. Game resumes at 5 tomorrow, second game 30 minutes after conclusion of first game...
