  1. Twins SP ERA down to 3.34 after Paddack's start tonight.
  2. Paddack with a 1.98 ERA in 27.1 IP over 5 starts since his first two disasters...(pending Varland stranding the base runner)
  3. He's at 73 pitches, send him out there, but with a short leash.
  4. Given Correa's past foot problems I have no problem with him "giving himself up"....
  5. And an 8 pitch inning.....madness I say, madness.....
  6. Followed by a 7 pitch inning from "Paddy" Paddack...
  7. https://www.mlb.com/news/rafael-devers-unwilling-to-play-first-base-for-red-sox
  8. Tell me that WPA means nothing without telling me WPA means nothing: Top 3 WPA: Brooks Lee .279, Ty France .144, Griffin Jax .105 Lee had a horrible day going until he hit that double, in fact the Orioles were ahead 2-1 until the 6th because of Lee....(and, believe it or not I am a big fan of Lee's...these advance metric stats not so much).
  9. Still tough to gain in the standings when the teams above you are playing better than you are: (Last 10, 20, 30 games) DET (7-3, 13-7, 21-9) CLE (7-3, 13-7, 19-11) KC (8-2, 14-6, 19-11) MIN (6-4, 12-8, 15-15)
  10. An 80 mph exit velocity base hit looks like a 105 mph exit velocity base hit in the box score (to paraphrase an old quote).....
  11. 3 pt takedown by the former HS wrestler for the third out....
  12. In regards to the KOC quote, the NFL doesn't have minor leagues like MLB does, "talented" players wash out of the NFL all the time. Talented or not, good eye or not, he strikes out 32% of the time over his career, quite often looking. He needs to be aggressive earlier in the count; hitting at the major league level is tough enough, but hitting with 2 strikes is even tougher and is not something that all players can do.
  13. Agreed, at least 7 strikes called balls at the bottom of the zone in that inning alone...
  14. This is why we can't have nice things....
  15. What did Pablo do to deserve the "getaway day" line-up....doesn't Rocco realize that there's a game tomorrow
  16. Maybe MLB should enact a rule that when a team does this the last pitcher used has to stay in and DH, or maybe they lose their DH for the next game. Nobody wants to see a pitcher hit any more than they want to see a position player pitch.
  17. @bean5302 Posted Saturday at 08:05 P It's not about Stewart throwing 6 pitches, it's about needing a reliever for the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th innings. SWR showed signs of dead arm at 120 innings. If his limit is 86 pitches, he should be in the bullpen. We've seen Baldelli destroy his bullpen year after year with short starts and we've watched the late season collapses that come from it Say hello to Mr. Ryan and Mr. Ober....
  18. Maybe he and d'Arnaud have a game of tic-tac-toe going on....
  19. Take the day off Buck, Bader has you covered....
  20. Probably not until the 8th or 9th for defense...
  21. Sponsored by Progressive....Insurance runs (stolen from somebody else....)
  22. With a little luck the injuries will clear up and the necessary rehab assignments will be done and over in the next 10-14 days....Lewis, Castro and Wallner for Gasper, Clemens and Bride looks like a pretty good trade to me (at least on paper). I think Julien stays until Keaschall returns simply because he is left-handed, unless Miranda absolutely tears up AAA. But injuries and slumps occur, so we will see...
