  1. Only took a real MLB pitcher to shake off the errors and bleeders to end the forever losing streak...
  2. I think people need to go re-look at Cleveland's pitching pipeline, there were trades and FA signings involved in building it. The same can generally be said of most MLB teams.
  3. He talked to the coaching staff (I am assuming Rocco was part of the conversation) AND management. He stated as much in an interview the broadcast aired.
  4. He stated that he talked to the coaching staff and management. His error did not lose the game, Ober's fragile psyche and lack of execution did.
  5. Judd's view of the weekend series with Milwaukee:
  6. Bailey looked okay until the Correa misplay, then he became his own worst enemy...again.
  7. There is difference in batters faced (BF) and at bats (AB) per game. Festa and Mathews both face 20 batters a game, Festa 420 BF/21 GMs, Mathews 260 BF/13 GMs. Joe Ryan 21-22: 22 BF/GM (704/32) Bailey Ober 21-22: 19.5 BF/GM (606/31) SWR 22-25: 20.7 BF/GM (848/41) Paddack 24-25: 22.5 BF/GM (720/32) And for the record, Paddack is 5 months older than Ryan, and has appeared in 1 more game over their careers...
  8. The Twins don't play their AAA players after calling them up, they bury them on the bench and play the guys picked up off the waiver wire...
  9. Could add Martin, Lewis, and to a lesser extent, Larnach (he has stated he changed his approach at the plate, I believe). Team philosophy? Try to make everyone a power hitter? Looks like the 2019 Bomba Squad ruined the organizations outlook on quality PA's, moving the runners over, productive outs, hitting the ball the other way, etc...
  10. Sunday marked 8 weeks since he was HBP in Atlanta, are there any updates concerning his recovery, rehab, etc...??
  11. Jax, Varland or Stewart maybe, big K guys who could "possibly" go 2 IP, otherwise no. Lopez and Mathews being hurt, as well as Ober (injury??) stuck in some sort of funk, and Festa and SWR not being allowed to go through the line-up 3X does kind of handcuff the rotation at this point. And let's not get started about the (lack of) defense behind them, but facing extra batters and throwing extra pitches doesn't help.
  12. This team has found out that the little things matter in baseball, yet they keep playing for the HR that will erase all mistakes. Catching the ball, throwing the ball, and running the bases all still matter, and if you can't successfully do any of them you will lose games....a LOT of games.
  13. Probably the saddest, but most true, statement regarding this team...
  14. Frelick, batting lead-off and Yelich in the three-hole, are both LH, imagine Rocco wants a clean inning from Coulombe and Festa comes in to start the 2nd against Contreras.
  15. Despite the HR against Ober, Steer has -0.6 bWAR and a 64 OPS+, not exactly setting the world on fire.
  16. You're forgetting Keaschall, though he was due to cool down after such a hot start. And Matthews isn't "down for a minute" based on researching the type of injury.
  17. Vazquez led the team with 5 SH in 2024 (half the teams total) and Clemens has the only SH in 2025. Meaningless stats? Probably, but it goes to show the teams (Baldelli's?) general approach with RISP, their .706 OPS ranks 22/30 in MLB, even worse their .635 OPS with runners on 2B ranks 24/30.
  18. So, probably lost for at least 100 days. Going back to his last game (6-4-25), that puts his return somewhere around September 12. He may be able to return to help out of the BP, if the team is able to stay in contention. Time to start packaging players/prospects for SP help.
  19. Alcala's days may be limited anyway, looks like Tonkin is starting his rehab in St. Paul this week.
  20. After re-watching the video, I think it was a designed play. There were 2 outs. Lee, a LH batter with some pop was batting, France was the trailing runner, getting his secondary lead. Guerrero broke for the base as the P delivered home. Somebody on Toronto's bench saw something on one or both pitches of the PA to that point. Not to deflect blame off of France, he needs to be situationally alert, but Borrego, the first base coach, needs to be helping him when he see's Guerrero break to the base with the pitch. https://www.mlb.com/video/bowden-francis-ball-to-brooks-lee-jogbdn
