  1. Pohlad's were glad to do it, I'm sure. Twins history will now be even more about them than Cal. I doubt the Pohlad's needed much urging to get the job done.
  2. Okay? No doubt about it, if we expand it out to my third cousin's former roommate's best friend, we're going to connect sooner or later. Not sure if that really changes anything I commented on but thanks for the response. For sure, if you're a high risk individual or are near one, you should be taking precautions. Or if you're just uncomfortable with that level of risk, I would act accordingly. To the OP, as many others have stated as well, I would go to a game right now, without question. Not trying to pick a fight with anyone, just offering my opinion.
  3. Agree, 100%. People themselves are more most able and best suited to determine their OWN level of risk, with COVID exposure or anything else in life. Assess your own situation, and take the appropriate precautions and measures to do the right thing for yourself and others. And yes, I have yet to know a single person or anyone that knows anyone that has had it. It's time to move on
  4. It's June 8 today. In many places I've been, masks are already almost non-existent other than the staff at various businesses. Things will look a lot different from now by the time the 4th of July rolls around, much less Labor Day. This is moving in the right direction, in a positive direction, more and more every day.
  5. Absolutely. I wouldn't think twice about going to a game right now. I would also bet just about any amount of money that come September, there will be football with stadiums full of fans, without question.
  6. Mind-numbingly stupid to think that the players shouldn't/couldn't agree to some kind of agreement that correlates to revenues for this season alone. The level of uncertainty and unknown is beyond comprehension and the players shouldn't have any skin in the game?
  7. 13 pitches, 5 strikes. Yikes. Gonna have to do better than that to see action with the big league club.
  8. He's batting .419 in his last 10 games and is having a really, really good season up to this point. And yes, still only 23. 40 games at SS and 28 games at 2B, about a dozen errors on the year, not great, but not terrible either. Good for him, and good for the Twins. Here's hoping he keeps developing and moving forward.
  9. Wowzers. I know it's early but Cavaco has 17 strikeouts in his last 36 PA. That's a rude awakening. Good experience for him to get some GCL time this year though.
  10. I could see a scenario with MadBum, based on how Rocco has used "load management" with a big chunk of the roster already, where the Twins acquire Bum, use him almost like Pineda now, spacing out his starts when possible, more off days, and Bumgarner is rested and ready to roll for the postseason. At the end of the day, if he labored through the season like a 3rd or 4th starter, but made it to the postseason and came up with 3-4 big wins on the way to the Twins in the WS and shows even flashes of what he's done in previous postseasons, he's worth giving up a to 5 prospect.
  11. How dare you say DL. The politically correct mob has forced a change from the Disabled List to the Injured List.
  12. Good to see Kohl Stewart with some positive results, even if he still does walk too many guys. That is fixable I would think. Let's hope he makes the most of the next few weeks, finish the season strong!
  13. Interesting how a few arbitrary things out of anyone's control could impact an evaluation like this dramatically one way or the other. The evaluations might look a lot different had Buxton, Sano, E. Santana, Morrison, and even Lance Lynn not all been virtually irrelevant this year for whatever reasons. In many aspects, yes, the grade is probably Incomplete but I have to admit I like what I've seen for the most part. I'm cautiously optimistic for the future!
  14. That's not necessarily what I'm saying. I don't know if they should sign him or not. Obviously the preference would be to look for bigger fish to round out the middle infield whether it's at SS or 2B. I'm just saying that if the Twins spent a boatload of money elsewhere (pipe dream largely), either SP, RP or outfield, it wouldn't be the end of the world to have Forsythe holding down 2B until Gordon or whomever else is ready to take the reins.
  15. A little surprised at the contingent of "trade him" folks. Who in the world is going to give the Twins anything for him right now? They would get NOTHING for him in the next few weeks. They could do a lot worse while spending a lot more money than having Forsythe for a reasonable 1-year deal for 2019. He's a very capable 2B that knows how to handle himself at the plate, even when he's not on a hot streak. At the moment, there are no other options for a 2019 Twins 2B man.
  16. Haven't seen a single update on Pineda since early June, when he was apparently starting to do longer bullpen sessions. I know the hopes for him contributing this year weren't high, like lucky to get some bullpen innings in late August or September, but I wonder what his status is? Ahead of schedule, behind schedule? Anyone heard the latest?
  17. So you're assuming the Twins FO doesn't realize this either? I know, I know, I'm sure they're all idiots....
  18. It brings tears to my eyes what massive and monumental relief and good this will bring to the Native American community. Clearly the good this will do for those folks is immeasurable. They have suffered long enough!!
  19. Buxton's been averaging about .255 since the end of April. At what point do we cut him a TINY bit of slack? If you want a larger sample size, he's been averaging .235 since the end of August last season with 11 HR's. A bad month of April and 2.5-3 decent-good months. Right now, there's more than enough reason to have him in the lineup every day.
  20. Nice to see the shiny new draft pick, Kirilloff, continue to rake at E-town! Also nice to see Wimmers having some success in Rochester, he's been lights out for over a month now. Maybe there's a remote chance he's not a 1st-round bust? I'm sure we'll see him up in August so it'll be interesting to see how he does!
  21. I'm guilty of being a long-time lurker and will make an effort to post more often. Things I'm looking forward to this year: > Gibson taking another step forward to becoming a top of the rotation ace > Debut of Max Kepler, sooner than later > One of the young fireballers making their debut with the Twins this year, whether it's Burdi or Reed. The pen could use the help > What happens at the Catcher position. Hoping JR Murphy makes an impact and takes over the position. Many, many others but I tried to keep to the less-than-obvious ones (like the debut of Berrios!). Overall, just plain looking forward to them building on what they did last year. Go Twins!!
