  1. 13 pitches, 5 strikes. Yikes. Gonna have to do better than that to see action with the big league club.
  2. He's batting .419 in his last 10 games and is having a really, really good season up to this point. And yes, still only 23. 40 games at SS and 28 games at 2B, about a dozen errors on the year, not great, but not terrible either. Good for him, and good for the Twins. Here's hoping he keeps developing and moving forward.
  3. Wowzers. I know it's early but Cavaco has 17 strikeouts in his last 36 PA. That's a rude awakening. Good experience for him to get some GCL time this year though.
  4. I could see a scenario with MadBum, based on how Rocco has used "load management" with a big chunk of the roster already, where the Twins acquire Bum, use him almost like Pineda now, spacing out his starts when possible, more off days, and Bumgarner is rested and ready to roll for the postseason. At the end of the day, if he labored through the season like a 3rd or 4th starter, but made it to the postseason and came up with 3-4 big wins on the way to the Twins in the WS and shows even flashes of what he's done in previous postseasons, he's worth giving up a to 5 prospect.
  5. How dare you say DL. The politically correct mob has forced a change from the Disabled List to the Injured List.
  6. Interesting how a few arbitrary things out of anyone's control could impact an evaluation like this dramatically one way or the other. The evaluations might look a lot different had Buxton, Sano, E. Santana, Morrison, and even Lance Lynn not all been virtually irrelevant this year for whatever reasons. In many aspects, yes, the grade is probably Incomplete but I have to admit I like what I've seen for the most part. I'm cautiously optimistic for the future!
  7. That's not necessarily what I'm saying. I don't know if they should sign him or not. Obviously the preference would be to look for bigger fish to round out the middle infield whether it's at SS or 2B. I'm just saying that if the Twins spent a boatload of money elsewhere (pipe dream largely), either SP, RP or outfield, it wouldn't be the end of the world to have Forsythe holding down 2B until Gordon or whomever else is ready to take the reins.
  8. A little surprised at the contingent of "trade him" folks. Who in the world is going to give the Twins anything for him right now? They would get NOTHING for him in the next few weeks. They could do a lot worse while spending a lot more money than having Forsythe for a reasonable 1-year deal for 2019. He's a very capable 2B that knows how to handle himself at the plate, even when he's not on a hot streak. At the moment, there are no other options for a 2019 Twins 2B man.
  9. So you're assuming the Twins FO doesn't realize this either? I know, I know, I'm sure they're all idiots....
  10. Buxton's been averaging about .255 since the end of April. At what point do we cut him a TINY bit of slack? If you want a larger sample size, he's been averaging .235 since the end of August last season with 11 HR's. A bad month of April and 2.5-3 decent-good months. Right now, there's more than enough reason to have him in the lineup every day.
  11. Nice to see the shiny new draft pick, Kirilloff, continue to rake at E-town! Also nice to see Wimmers having some success in Rochester, he's been lights out for over a month now. Maybe there's a remote chance he's not a 1st-round bust? I'm sure we'll see him up in August so it'll be interesting to see how he does!
  12. For the chance to take easily the most glaring, gaping, monumental, catastrophic holes in the lineup (SS) with a player the caliber of Tulo? There aren't a lot of scenarios where I would NOT consider that if I were the Twins. Like Mike said, they've got 50 wins in the bank already; a player like Tulo completely reshuffles the entire lineup, fills a MASSIVE, MASSIVE hole in the lineup and in the field. And I'm a major Gibson fan.
  13. That confused me too. So what is the real story? Great arm, more than enough to stick at SS? Or not exactly, and a better fit for 2B? Love the potential with the bat, just hope there's a position for him sooner than later where he can contribute with the Twins.
  14. Another player to watch in the second half, or so it would appear: David Hurlbut After he moved up from Ft Myers to Chat, he had two rough outings but since then: 3-0, 1.71 ERA, a 0.90 WHIP, and 13K/4BB ratio Is he a legit prospect? It's also a plus that he's a lefthander. He's not on the current Top 20 obviously.
  15. Good to see Felix Jorge cranking it up. Hopefully he gets to Ft Myers soon and we see what he can do there. He's got nine Q Starts in a row and really hasn't had a terrible outing all year. Overall, a number of guys that will be moving up soon and it'll be fun watching them in the second half to see how they fare.
  16. Still just 22 years old. His development as of late has been pretty impressive. Let's hope he keeps it rolling
  17. Apologies if this is slightly off-topic but I was wondering what's the latest with Luke Bard? I've tried poking around the net and can't find anything! Good update, Seth! Nice work!
  18. Agree with Platoon on Hicks; he looks pretty solid in the 6 games he's gotten the starting nod here lately. 7-for-19, 2 BB, 6 RBI's in 6 starts There's still a lot of talent there, I think he puts it together enough to be on the 25-man roster for a while, just not sure what position yet.
  19. Not to pick on your post specifically but I had to chuckle at the "too slow" comment. I think you're probably right, he's likely too slow, and yet there are some posters here that are so in love with whatever it is that Pinto has done up to this point that they would put HIM in the outfield. At first glance, I couldn't FATHOM a situation where Pinto could beat Plouffe in a foot race. I would have to think Plouffe would be a substandard outfielder, and yet light years better than Pinto.
  20. I'm sure you're 100% correct and to top things off, I admittedly don't intimately know all the nuances of the 40-man roster. I'm just saying that of all the prospects the Twins have in the minors right now, Rosario is one that it seems is most widely assumed to be a lock for success in the majors and I think it's far from a given.
  21. I seem to be in the minority but I'm not sure what Rosario has done to warrant anything "guaranteed" that many others want to anoint him with. I know he's been hot lately but I need to see more before I see him as a long term solution, at ANY position in the majors at this point. Good grief, in NB his OBP is like 120 points less than Aaron Hicks, a guy many seem to think has been left for dead.
