  1. MLBTR report: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/07/twins-sign-first-rounder-walker-jenkins.html
  2. Trading for either of these two would be...wait for it... Dumb and dumber
  3. 1. Pump the breaks a little on Stewart and Thielbar. Neither are back yet, for one thing. For another, Stewart is a 31 YO waiver wire claim who has 100+ MLB innings of 5+ ERA and 1.5 WHIP in his background. He certainly had a nice couple months for the Twins, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is the same guy he's always been if he comes back. Thielbar is 36. 2. Do you want to see any of Sands, Ortega or Balazovic pitch in a playoff game?
  4. Wait...you think they haven't signed Jenkins because they've told him, "we're giving a million of your bonus to the 19th pick if he wants it. You'll still get 6.5. Otherwise we'll give you 7.5 mil. OK?" And you think Jenkins said "OK. Let me know by Tuesday." That seems implausible, don't you think?
  5. Another GREAT WIN. Hats off to Maeda. Hats off to the bats for coming back from a gut punch. Heck, hats off to the bullpen, despite Jax giving up the HR. Julien getting nailed at third (by a lot) is particularly bad baserunning because it ended the inning. Don't make the 1st or 3rd out at third. Nitpic: the win probability chart cannot possibly be correct. I think it somehow missed the Wong HR in the 9th.
  6. Yes, but...one pretty widely accepted baserunning tenet is "don't make the 1st or 3rd out at 3rd base." The benefits of being on 3rd are there, but don't outweigh ending the inning.
  7. I was at the game. I'm 99 percent sure Solano wouldn't have scored on Jeffers' bunt. It was a safety squeeze, not suicide. The bunt didn't go far enough. I'm also 99 percent sure he scores even if the RFer catches Correa's liner.
  8. In other news, Generalisimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
  9. Can't speak for others, but as for me I know I was expecting 3 hits and a walk every single game.
  10. Add Vazquez' 6-2-3 GIDP to the totals. And Jeffers' walk off single with runners on 2nd and 3rd, for that matter. Crazy.
  11. GREAT WIN!! I must say, I was originally going to blister Rocco for PHing Vazquez, but upon thinking about it, I give Rocco props for thinking 2 innings ahead. "We will have a bases loaded, no out situation in the 12th. We can't do **** with the bases loaded. I need Vazquez to, uh, UNload 'em. 2 on, 2 out? Much better. Jeffers will single, bingo bango bongo, adios Chicago, walk off here we come, off to a nice Sunday night dinner, bring on the Mariners." Rocco's playing 3d chess, while I'm playing checkers.
  12. Wow. Come back from 3 down going into the bottom of the 9th, scratch and claw to a multi-extra-inning win, and some find that not enjoyable? I don't get it. One of the best Ws of the season, IYAM. Nitpic: Rocco, next time you're considering PHing Vazquez, give it a moment's more thought? Kthanks.
  13. I think we can all agree the lineup needs help if Donovan Dolano is in the 4 hole. Against a RHer no less
  14. Agree, send him. But bad baserunning by Wallner. If the throw goes through he needs to be on 2nd.
  15. Hunter Renfroe would be a nice fit and wouldn't cost a lot. Career .263/.345/.533 against LHers.
  16. His "contract" would be up in 2027. Until then, Twins property via arbitration if they choose.
  17. As stated in the OP, Carlson is a switch hitter. The attraction, though, is as a RH hitter vs LH pitching. 368 career PAs, .310/.381/.477
  18. I mean, if you drink it all, you've given it your best shot.
  19. "I suppose there's nothing uncommon about Lance Lynn giving up a lot of runs at Target Field." Haha well played young man. As for the game: Twins Rule, Sox Drool. There's your sabremetric analysis for today.
  20. If your alcohol consumption event involves "all of it" you'll never be left wondering if your event had ",enough"
  21. You want a posting event about something I don't know I know?
  22. There are known knowns. There are known unknowns. And there are the unknown unknowns.
