  1. I have the Twins at +130 on throwing a scoreless inning today. I should have gotten longer odds, I think.
  2. Zero hyperbole. Momentum and confidence are real.
  3. Jovani Moran changed the course of this series with his incredibly awful 3 batter performance last night. Cruising to a 6-2 win, everyone feeling great, players playing loose and free, Seattle drudging along to a loss, then boom.
  4. There's a limit to how much we can afford, and how much we can carry. I'm afraid the Dutch ovens are going to have to pull double duty as chamber pots.
  5. When Facing Right-Handed Pitching: 119 PA, 25 H, 8 Doubles, 3 HR, 11 BB, 24 K, .240 AVG, .740 OPSWhen Facing Left-Handed Pitching: 267 PA, 63 H, 19 Doubles, 12 HR, 20 BB, 57 K, .264 AVG, .843 OPS You have that backwards. 119 PAs vs LH pitching, not RH. 267 PAs vs RH pitching There are always way more RH pitchers than left, so when I looked at the above I thought, "weird...Candelario has faced over twice as many lefthanders as righties this year?? That cant be right." So I looked it up. It isnt. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=candeje01&year=2023&t=b Career wise he's a little better vs LH pitching, https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=candeje01&year=2023&t=b But what Candelario's career really shows is 2023 to date is most likely not sustainable. He's got 8 yrs of .736 OPS behind him. Pass.
  6. I'm hoping Thielbar provides effective help, but I'm not counting on it. He's 36 and hasnt pitched in weeks. And Stewart's history isn't really much different than Ortega. I am NOT expecting the magic pixie dust to still be there. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think there's a very good chance real bullpen help exists internally.
  7. Everyone, everywhere sees a bullpen implosion. The Mariners didn't rally through good hitting. They rallied because Moran and Ortega melted down.
  8. Not here to defend Pagan, but Moran was the primary cause of last night's 8th inning, not Pagan.
  9. It certainly doesn't help. I said here maybe a week ago I figured Sands must be in the witness protection program.
  10. Maybe Thielbar, but he's 36. I wouldn't count on him. I don't think Stewart has even started throwing yet, and let's keep in mind he's a waiver wire pickup. He had a nice run, but he's almost certainly not a front line guy.
  11. Spy vs spy should have won a Pulitzer.
  12. I'll settle for blaming Rocco. And I'm serious. Top of the Seattle order, he's only getting 1 Lefthanded hitter tops. But then I have an irrational distaste for Moran. Always iffy control, much less command.
  13. Start by offering to pay for Gallo's first class ticket if someone will take him. We don't need anything back, and if need be send along a low level prospect so someone takes him.
  14. Pagan didn't enter with a 4 run lead, or with bases loaded. He entered with a 3 run lead, no outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd. He got a ground ball out, then the 2 run HR to tie, then finished the inning. Not excusing the HR, but it was the only run he was responsible for. Moran pitched to 3 hitters, walked 2 and gave up a double. That inning is on Moran.
  15. What role? They have in effect a 12 man pitching staff.
  16. That base was stolen on the pitcher, ********.
  17. Why in God's name Moran to start the 8th? I mean, why?
  18. Yes, can be used as a boat anchor and a set of barbells also.
  19. I have to admit I clicked into the thread just to find out who "Enrique" Hernandez is. Oh.
  20. Interesting trivia: Tonight's Seattle pitcher originally made his money by inventing home cleaning devices.
