    They don't even stretch them out in the minors. I mean I'm all for it. But then train them to do it. Don't ask them to do what they've never asked before, NOW Mathews is even a worse case. He hasn't thrown 90 pitches in a game in his entire professional career. How do they expect him to do it in the big leagues?

    I think the right call was to start the 7th with a reliever. You're asking more from Festa than you've asked all year. They don't even ask em to do that in the minors.

    Well like I said...shocked he sent Festa out for the 7th. He was hit hard in the 6th. He hadn't thrown a single pitch in even the 6th inning yet this season. Hadn't thrown more than 82 pitches in a game. Just a curious decision that immediately backfired. Not to excuse Thielbar, but I think you gotta take what you got from Festa and have a reliever start the 7th

    I believe you play your best players when they're healthy. Giving them time off intentionally does zero to keep them healthy and only adds to the time they'll eventually miss when/if they're NOT healthy. It just amounts to an added unnecessary trip to the IL, spread out into one day trips that accumulate into the same thing.
