  1. I'll add a tip o' the cap to Rocco for pulling Festa when he did.
  2. Somebody must not have been running.
  3. Could see that coming. Ramirez was clearly waiting on that change. That's on Vazquez and/or the staff.
  4. Man Lewis had two middle middle pitches to hit there. Just dismal. Gotta take advantage.
  5. They had to shed the salary of at least one of Polanco or Kepler. That doesn't mean the front office didn't waste an asset. They got nothing for it.
  6. Took me about 45 minutes, but yeah. I finished a basket.
  7. I think this is a pretty damn important game.
  8. Topa has been pulled from his rehab assignment. No timeline. Most likely done for the year. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fantasypros.com/mlb/news/464434/justin-topa-knee-pulled-from-rehab-assignment.php%3famp
  9. Per Phil Miller in the Strib, the Twins have gone oh-for with RISP in four of the eight games against Cleveland this season. Pretty bad baserunning by Jeffers, IYAM. I mean, if I can see from the stands the liner is going to fall, he should be able to. Still, gotta generate more chances, and take advantage of a few. So often it seems our hitters are on the defense with runners on, rather than the pitcher.
  10. Both starters started their long toss in the outfield while the speeches were in progress. It wasn't an issue. The Twins are holding the ceremony. Pretty sure they have a decent idea of its length.
  11. I was at the game. Both pitchers started their warmup routine late.
  12. Huh? I don't remember anything like that. I remember some (you?) trying to sell the story Detroit ASKED for Keaschall, and that being a ridiculously high ask. Now the Twins were trying to peddle an injured Keaschall? No.
  13. There were no top 100 prospects traded. The deadline was about money.
  14. In person, he ****** it up. You can't get forced on a hit to the OF
  15. The piggyback idea is never going to happen. It's unworkable. You can't have 6 pitchers who only pitch every 5th day. All that does is put more stress on the bullpen, not less. And there's no guarantee you're getting 6 or 7 innings from the piggyback tandem, btw.
  16. Being at both ends of the doubleheader, I'm pretty positive Lewis isn't 100 percent healthy. He doesn't run anywhere near full speed.
  17. 242 PAs of .640 OPS. That's not splitting hairs. That's actively damaging the offense. And don't even get me started on the defense.
  18. The cost of this, though, is ... Manny Margot. Who still has more PAs against RH pitching than LH. And often robs Larnach or Wallner PAs against LH pitching later in games because Rocco gonna Rocco. I've been a firm believer in the platoon advantage forever. I'm the guy who always laughed when Bremer would tell us Mauer didn't care which handed pitcher he faced. But, it's gotta be done smartly. And with a hitter who makes it worthwhile. If we're gonna platoon all the time, at least get someone who ends up making it valuable. That ain't Margot. Margot has given the Twins 242 PAs of .640 OPS. That's not helpful.
