  1. So refreshing to see Ramirez busting ass down the line on a grounder to first. Refreshing, and ... unusual...
  2. And they're both 1 inning relievers. As is Cade Smith, and Herron. All of Clase, Gaddis and Smith have more IP than any Twins reliever, too.
  3. The origin: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057012/ It's since been used as a nickname for many players with, for lack of a better term, bad hands
  4. We just can't hope to compete with the big city Guardians, Peter.
  5. It was obvious Buxton isn't really ready to play the other night when he BACKED OFF a fliner from Ramirez that ended up bouncing 10 feet in front of him.
  6. I question this stat. Here's the 2023 minor league IP leaders: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2023-milb-stats-leaders/ That's 10 over 140 and they cut the list off there. It also ignores combined totals from any pitcher called up. In any case, I don't GAF what others are doing. I care what the Twins do.
  7. The Audra Martin bit with Morse was a bit...cringe.
  8. It's what they ASK for. They don't prepare their minor league pitchers for a major league workload. SWR has been in the minors since 2018 and has a high of 113 IP prior to this season. Max of 22 starts as a Twins minor leaguer. Rarely more than 5 innings in a start. Then they call him up and expect him to pitch a major league season, and are shocked to learn he's not prepared.
  9. To be fair, I suspect Correa isn't in any shape to play SS every day. I don't think he was even in any shape to come off the IL. They just were free falling so long they activated Buxton and Correa out of desperation.
  10. Margot is just brutal. I don't understand why he's lasted the entire season.
  11. Middle middle mistake change. Edit: Not sure what that was...but I don't think it was a changeup.
  12. I'm pretty pleasantly surprised at how good Correa has looked at the plate despite no rehab assignment.
  13. I think you're overstating the influence on managerial decisions. Overall philosophy, sure. Writing out the lineup? Making substitutions? Pitching decisions? No. That's the manager.
  14. I think every reasonable fan knows Rocco doesn't have a deep bullpen. That makes it MORE important he use his assets wisely. I think it's entirely reasonable to question his staff usage. Removing Ober at 70-some pitches. "getting Duran some work" in a blowout, which has happened at least twice that I recall. Duran in the 8th (again!) and trying for 2 innings the night before. Letting Alcala blow a FIVE run lead. On and on. It's easy to mock others. Now try actually defending.
  15. Both of you might be interested to learn Forbes ACTUAL current estimate of the Twins Franchise value: $1.48B One point four eight Billion dollars. Not sure where other figures come from, but it's not Forbes. https://www.forbes.com/lists/mlb-valuations/ Now how does the Pohlad family's "annualized return" look?
  16. When they added Irvin and optioned Alcala, they specifically said "we need length." Alcala had gone more than 1 inning 11 times this season. Irvin has thrown 3 pitches.
  17. 1 in, 2 on, none out in the first, 4-5-6 hitters due up, and.. Nothing. Felt like a loss coming right there.
  18. Pretty surprised to even see him
