    He had the entire bullpen available except Headrick and possibly Blewitt. Saturday was a rainout so the entire pen had a day off, with a scheduled day off on Monday. Only Headrick and Blewett (7 pitches) threw in game 1.

    Rocco looked no farther than "there's a LH hitter due up. My laptop says LH pitcher here."

    With pretty much the entire pen available, that's the guy Rocco turns to. Who not only turns 1 on, 2 out, 2 run lead into a 1 run deficit, Rocco brings him back out in the 6th to start another rally.

    I would like someone to defend turning your season over to Irwin, in the 5th. We need a MLB manager.

    Can I blame him for putting a 2-0 lead, with the season crumbling, in the hands of a waiver wire pickup and then bringing that stiff back out to start yet ANOTHER RALLY? Or isn't that on Rocco either?

    I won't even question removing Matthews. I mean, it's questionable, but I understand it. But Irvin? There is absolutely ZERO defense for that. It's ******** idiotic. It's jaw-droppingly stupid. HE HAS THE ENTIRE GD BULLPEN. "Hey, let's put in the waiver wire guy. Who, if he doesn't get this LHer, has to pitch to 3 hitters." Somebody please take a shot at defending that. EDIT: And then let him start the next inning and get ANOTHER rally going. Go away, Baldelli. Braindead.

    Talk about "Rocco'd." Your season is on the line, with a pretty much full bullpen, and you turn to ... the recent waiver wire acquisition. I'm sure somebody is going to tell me, yet again, that managers don't have much effect on outcomes in MLB.

    Matthews has a lot to work on, but SWR isn't even in Matthews class as a pitcher.

    Kyle Farmer had a hit a couple games ago, so ignore 6 months of suck, ignore the platoon advantage all of a sudden, and play Kyle.

    Yoshida hasn't pulled a ground ball this entire series, yet the Twins still play the max shift. Lucky that one went to the 3rd baseman.

    In MLB, the magic number is 5. Score 5 runs, you win more than you lose. The Twins have scored 5 or more runs 4 times in September, not counting today's first game. Four.

    1. Poor defense and sloppy fundamentals should be expected when "Anybody can play anywhere" is a core philosophy. 2. Related to above: Except for catcher, they don't replace injured players with someone who plays the same position, even up the middle. When a SS goes down, do they call up and play a capable SS? No. They don't. 3. Please don't tell me they care about defense when they don't teach anyone a position in the minors. Franchise cornerstone Royce Lewis has been in this organization for about 30 years now and there's STILL conversation daily here about where he should be playing. In short, defense isn't a priority, and nobody should be surprised when they dont get a lot of it.
