    I'd be very happy with Castro. I don't think he's going to get a lot of money, but is a decent contributor across the board, and is only 29 years old.

    It's a shame we can't (aren't finding?) find a way to play Vargas. He's started a grand total of 4 games in August, while hitting .296/.404/.636 on the season.

    Sano is now through one full MLB season played, essentially. 159 games played (678 PA), 36 home runs, 99 RBI, .259/.364/.503, .372 wOBA, 135 wRC+ He's a monster.

    Nature of the game. There is no consistency in baseball day to day. Mike Trout has had ~35 games this season where he hit for a wRC+ under 60. Comes with the nature of having a young team too. Sano struggling a bit right now and find his way. Just part of it. We got to Clevinger today with 7 hits and 4 walks in 4.1 innings, but the bullpen has shut us down.

    Vargas regression is real and he's not happy about it one bit. Guy needs to relax probably overthinking it.

    Rough game for Vargas. Tons of swings and misses on fastballs in the zone. 0/5 with 3 strikeouts (and a walk). Hopefully a bounce back game tomorrow.

    By all accounts the price on Santana was very high. If he is indeed on the move I expect it to be for a good prospect and maybe more.

    I'm fine with this. Light seems like a project but I don't think we were ever going to get anything great for Abad anyway.

    In an ideal world, Park and Vargas are locked in at 1B/DH and Mauer is on his way out.

    I would rather send Duffey to AAA to work stuff out, than have him pitch out of the bullpen in a non contending year. In any case, depending on what trades are made he could still be in the rotation come next week.
