Murphy isn't the answer at catcher either. He'd be an acceptable backup, though. Even if we trade Suzuki, and Murphy comes up and BABIPS his way to a decent 2nd half (unlikely), just like he did in 2015, I wouldn't want to pencil him in as the starter next season. He is what he is at this point, a light hitting backup catcher. And he hasn't shown anything in AAA this season, so even that might be a bit of a stretch.
He has 1000 MLB plate appearances of being a really, really bad hitter. That would do a lot to kill your stock. He's been a great hitter this year in AAA though, so if you acquire him, let him play everyday and hope he figures it out. His defense is very good by my understanding, excellent pitch framer.
35 wins. Call up Berrios and let him get his feet underneath him at the MLB level. At this point - he's made 26 starts in AAA, time for him to take the next step. I would move May back into the rotation, but he just came off a pretty bad back injury, so I might wait until next season for that.
His HR/FB is 19%. For reference - the league average is 12.9%. His ISO this year with the Twins sits at .245 and steamer projects it at .145 (although Steamer isn't high on him to begin with). His highest ISO in the upper minors was .209 in AA last year - this year he had .173 in AAA. His power numbers are a bit elevated due to the HR/FB luck, but once he settles in, I could see him being a ~.175 ISO guy at the MLB level. So to answer your question, no, I don't think he will be an annual 30 home run hitter and it's not a reflection of his true power. I see him more as a ~20 home run guy with lots of doubles and a good OBP, certainly a fine player.
Here are his plate discipline stats since he has come up from his most recent stint in AAA (not including today): http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=12155&position=OF&type=8&gds=2016-07-03&gde=2016-07-09&season= He's making an absurd amount of contact on pitches outside of the zone (83%, league average is 63%). Compare that to the league averages, http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=5&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0,ss&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Of course, it's too small of a sample to make anything of it yet. Should be interesting to see how it plays out though.
Agreed Rosario needs to stay on the base there. It's happened plenty of times now, where the baserunners pops up an inch and gets called out. Have to be aware of that.
Sano was never going to sustain his .396 BABIP from last season. Despite that, he's still had a pretty good year (injury aside). And... Kepler has been awesome since his most recent call up, that is all.
