    Hmm. Read it. The thing is, ultimately Nolasco has control of the pitches he throws. So my question is: did Nolasco know the sinker was his best pitch and why didn't he call off the catcher on other pitchers. “Nagy has helped me out a ton understanding how good of a pitch that is,” Nolasco said. This comment from Nolasco confuses me. How could he not know? Blyleven even commented on it frequently on how it was his best pitch.

    I would bet that Falvey will want to stay the course with what the Twins have now and advance the development of Berrios, Duffey, etc. That was really his thing in Cleveland. Still hoping the Twins start next year with Berrios and Duffey in the bullpen.

    2. Aim High – There’s a quote “Most people fail in life not because they aim too high and miss, but because they aim too low and hit.” So the Twins should swing with an upper cut, eh? Sano had that down, but Twins coaches are forcing him to change to a more level swing. Another bad coaching decision, eh? Got my Norwegian on this morning, eh?

    33 years old, 9 seasons in Cleveland's front office, starting as a baseball operations intern in November 2007. Promoted to assistant GM last fall after Ross Atkins was hired as GM by the Toronto Blue Jays and former Indians club president Mark Shapiro. He receives high marks for his interactions with the scouting and player-development departments. Your comments about Falvey are absurd. Period.

And as an Assistant GM (only promoted last October), how much of this success was he involved in this change? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/09/twins-considering-indians-agm-derek-falvey-for-front-office-job-finalist.html MLB Rumors, Sept 15, 2016: "The Twins are said to be looking at employing both a PBOp and GM, and it isn’t immediately clear whether Falvey is under consideration for the top post in the Minnesota baseball ops hierarchy. While many organizations have taken to utilizing the title of president of baseball operations, it isn’t applied in a uniform manner. Still, it would be somewhat novel for an executive to take that title without first serving as a GM." In my view, the new PoBO would make the GM decision. Falvey looks more like a possible GM candidate.

I am a son of a successful banking executive AND I'm a successful banking executive. A young man has just wandered into my office and says " Hey chief, I got a great idea for you. We have an under performing asset. We can save money by just getting rid of it." Me: "Sounds good. How much will it cost to make this happen?" Eager Beaver: "Only 48M over 2 years. It's a bargain. And we can bring in more assets!" Me: "By 48M, you mean........" Eager Beaver: "48 million dollars a year for 2 years." Me: "Son, you do understand that I'm a banker, right?"

    Being a beat-writer ain't an easy job. Sure, you can run off about the team you're covering and look great to bloggers. Oh, you stand a good chance of not getting your ticket punched to enter the Twins locker room every again...... I do agree, as always, with the things that Len wrote. I also, as always, do not agree with some. Example: "The Twins can't have a left side of the infield with Jorge Polanco and Migue Sano. There will be too many mistakes between the both of them." Followed by: "Polanco doesn't have the arm to play shortstop." Agree on the 1st. Sano will never become a respectable defensive 3rd bagger. I've always thought his offense would make the difference. I'll give him a mulligan just because it was his sophomore season. On the 2nd: Polanco doesn't have the arm? Highly disagree. If anything, it's his footwork. And certainly forgivable considering the lack of SS playing time in the MiLB. I really enjoyed the mirage that was the 2015 season. 2016 was really an anticipated fall. There were some really high points ( e.i. Texas Rangers, Cole Hamels ) and they won some series. Some players developed, some still working on it and some still in the MiLB. "Turning around a franchise takes as much time as it does to fix a pitching staff. As soon as the Twins can sort their pitching out, they can compete." THIS. I'd probably add "they MAY be able to compete". And that pitching will come from where?

    If Sano had been playing in RF all this time, weight would not be an issue now. Just saying.......

    69.2 innings, 79 hits, 24 BB, 13 HR's, 40 ER's. He's 26 years old, so there's still a window of opportunity for Mike Tonkin. It just should not with the Twins. There are other options. The worse I can say for Tonkin: he chewed up MLB innings so other MiLB RP's can get more innings in there. Hope that works out

    So how many spots are we talking about here? 7? There's been improvement from the younger relievers as they got past the call-up jitters. The same will happen next season. Closer: Kintzler, until someone else steps up. Short: Pressely, Chargois, Rogers Middle: O'Rourke + Wimmer, Long: Berrios, Duffey If everything goes well, Chargois + Rogers step into split closer roll. Add 1 MiLB pitcher Berrios and Duffey get some short, low pressure success and deemed ready for starter duties. Add 2 MiLB pitchers. IDK: I seem to be developing an entire staff
