  1. Thanks Dude!!!!! My next theory was that the 7th grade science teacher in his hometown left for maternity leave, so he stepped in as the longterm sub to finish out the school year. Why would the Twins let that information out? Seems weird and a little suspicious to me though.
  2. What was May's role when the Twins were playing their best last year (in May)? However, I completely feel that the Twins are not using May as their closer due to saves being used heavily in the arbitration process. I honestly believe that to be the main reason.
  3. I kind of feel like Meyer is big enough of a name for this to be a story for ALL of the major Twins writers/reporters to be inquiring about. If this is not on their radar, they really are not doing that damn good of a job. It at least deserves a blurb at the end of some recap or story. I mean WTF, it is like the guy just disappeared and they think no one is going to notice. Something is definitely up here, I can't explain it otherwise. I honestly think he is either really upset or might be dealing with some personal issues.
  4. We demand answers! I'm going to check his MySpace page to see if there is anything.
  5. Yeah, was just curious as to why he was still being held back at such a low level. TJ makes sense though.
  6. Thanks for reminding us that we likely haven't seen the last of Milone. C'mon Dick. Stop talking about guys without much talent like they have talent and just aren't doing well for some other reason.
  7. Yeah, I am really surprised that connected people like Seth or from other places have not inquired about this and shared. He is not listed as a starter for any of the 4 upcoming AAA games, but they did make sure to slide Milone in to the front of the line to make sure HE did not get off schedule. I guess when you have crazy upside like Milone you are more concerned about staying on schedule and doing all that you can to help them succeed.
  8. Lol , Molly wouldn't get the F out of the way for that mound visit. Kind of like this seasons lineups and rotations.
  9. Don't worry, the Twins FO and management falls in love with small sample sizes from below average players. Dean showed enough for long enough.
  10. Yikes, neither believe that the Twins overachieved last year.
  11. The way Dick said, "BASE HIT TO RIGHT!" was disconcerting. Like it was some huge accomplishment or surprise.
  12. Yup, the type of thing that can block a prospect and put him in the rotation for a month or so.
  13. I am just surprised that they didn't offer longterm contracts to D. Santana or Rosario after those sustainable rookie seasons. Is Nunez our unsupported success player for this year, or do we still have one coming up?
  14. Hughes, Nolasco, Gibson, or Milone. I will never ever get excited about this team with more than one of these guys in the rotation, and none should be starting on "good team." They are going to have some good game here and there, and sometimes string a few together, but at the end of the day they are just blah. I like Santana and think he was a legit signing though. Nolasco is pitching better this year, but is still just bad. I can't get excited about any games these guys are pitching.
  15. Meyers name is not listed as one of the starters for any of the next four games. But, there are some phenomenal talent pitching those four games, so I understand. At least they were able to find a way to MAKE SURE that Milone was able to stay on schedule and move him to the front of the line for starts.
  16. I thought the slider was supposed to be his dominant pitch that was raved about before the draft and early on? Did the Twins screw him up somehow?
  17. I was going to post something about him having not pitched since being demoted last night, but forgot to. I did think about the possibility of there being some friction, especially since Meyer has made it extremely clear that he just wants to be in the bigs and being in the pen he thought was his quickest path...really the only reason I think he wanted in the pen in the first place. Quicker to the bigs and quicker to pay raises. I don't blame him. He also seemed very strange on the mound in Houston after he struggled. Almost like he was going to cry or was shutting down. He knew how he'd be handled probably, but maybe there is something else going on there physically, mentally, or emotionally. Greinke had issues and I know one other good pitcher other there had some anxiety issues too. I honestly thing by watching Meyer that he might have some anxiety issues, even if it is simply performance anxiety on a micro level. That, or they have him on a once every 10-14 day schedule to optimize his development. Glad that I was not the only one searching the Rochester boxscore and schedule to see when his name would pop up and in what role.
  18. Think that should put into perspective how the rest of the league values Milone? 29 other teams didn't want him for that price in ANY role. So please, do not bring him back up as anything more than a spot starter or reliever, even if he carves up AAA hitters as lefties with his profile often do.
  19. No. Just no. If he is a #4 or #5 on a good or average team...that team better be looking to swing a trade before the deadline for some starting pitching help.
  20. I have read criticism and questioning at both Fangraphs and Baseball Prospectus of the Twins lack of ability to properly have their "toolsy" prospects reach their potential. It was brought several times as a concern for Buxton panning out at the plate. So, it is something that people outside of MN are noticing and that we might have to be concerned about. My biggest concern with their prospects has been with the way it seem that they do not seem to develop any plate discipline with their best prospects. Some have good approach, but it is also something that a hitter can develop on his own too.
  21. OKAY...I should not have used mash, but I essentially that they all have pretty significant platoon splits that favor facing LHP's. Suzuki '13-'16 avg= .286 vs LHP and OBP=.338 vs LHP. He is much better hitting vs them, but is atrocious vs RHP. The other guys have similar differences in splits.
