  1. For everyone has posted that Hatch should be on the roster next year please raise your hand. We get excited when of the signed castoffs has a good outing or two and we are ready to enshrine them in the Twins HOF. There is a reason these guys keep signing with multiple teams, they are not any good. I can understand one or two especially if there are injuries. But this organization seems more focused on fixing all the inhabitants of Misfit Island rather than work on developing their own talent. This is the biggest it is hard for me to maintain any shred of hope. How many castoffs both pitching and position players are they going to bring to spring training.
  2. A lot of comments saying we will see the kids. But this front office does not give priority to their own players. We have seen the likes of Gallo, Margot, Santana, France and bullpen washouts before we ever see the kids. This front office will try to sign cheap free agents and say hey we are trying to win. They will proclaim Clemens as the starter at 1B just like they are now. They have the opportunity now to give some kids a chance instead you have a bullpen that up until yesterday had Noah Davis in it, not to mention a bunch of other 30 plus stopgap veterans who no one wants. You have Gasper pinch hitting in the top of the 9th. No I don't think the kids will get a chance, it will be more of the same and maybe we can threaten the loss record that the Rockies will set this year.
  3. Another sign this team has no plan. Why not call up Cardenas, see if he can be your back up next year. Why keep settling for these stopgaps. Gasper should not be anywhere near this team and Pereda is just another journeyman. I have no idea if Cardenas can do anything up here, but now is the time to find out. And why is Clemens batting clean up, can we try and at least pretend we want to be a serious organization.
  4. Because he shouldn't even be on the roster, much less catching. But hey Falvey is the smartest man in baseball.
  5. Fitzgerald just hit an RBI single. I am guessing we will get an article by tomorrow stating that we should put him in the lineup as the every day shortstop.
  6. Once again Rocco proves they have no love for the fans. One of the few reasons to come to a game right now is to see Buxton. Play him at home and let him sit on the road, which is tomorrow. You can't wait one more game to sit Buxton.
  7. They are going to throw all their Left handers at us for a bullpen game.
  8. Outman came in earlier in the game as a defensive replacement for Wallner. But I still don't like that move for the reason that when his spot comes up again, Outman is hitting.
  9. At least we had a good game for 8 innings tonight, it has only been 5 innings the last few games.
  10. My guess would not much better since they are trying to get ESPN take over the streaming. I think MLB took over because of no other options.
  11. I think they are probably having trouble selling ads. This is the first year and there is no track record. The Big Ten Network went thru this their first couple of years where every other ad was about the Big Ten Network.
  12. Can we please end the Noah Davis experience. He just can't get the job done and I would have to believe he has no future with the team next year.
  13. He is more suited for the bullpen. The point is Detroit was more decisive than the Twins ever are on any player.
  14. There was two outs, so I hope he was running, a Little Leaguer knows this.
  15. Anyone but Gasper, he does not belong on a major league roster and a serious organization would not have him on their roster.
  16. Again a serious organization would not entertain the thought of Gasper on this roster especially as a catcher. I don't care if it is Pereda or Cardenas or some other minor leaguer. But enough with Gasper.
  17. Gasper shouldn't even be on a major league roster. Give Cardenas a shot at least he is a catcher.
  18. The Tigers are moving Paddack to the bullpen after only 6 starts. Another example of how most organizations operate, they expect results. And if they don't get results, they move to other options. The Twins still trot out Gasper in their lineup as a catcher no less. He has one good game in his career but sure the Twins and their excellent development staff will turn him into a above average player.
  19. They already have 5 starters and it will be six when Lopez comes back, no room for Abel. I would think Hatch will be used in long relief.
  20. I am still not sold that Lee is the long term solution but I would rather have him than a 1 year stopgap next year if Culpepper isn't ready. But he has more upside than Fitzgerald or Kiner, so let him play. Keaschall is too young and athletic to make into a DH. He has just over 70 games in professional ball at 2B, put him out there like they are doing and let him play. Not every player is a finished product. If TD had their way Koskie would have never played more than one season for the Twins. This philosophy of playing players everywhere in the minor leagues is not preparing them to play in the major leagues. Give them a position and let them get comfortable and work to improve.
  21. And who would he replace in the lineup. They are going to and should give run to Lee, Lewis and Keaschall until the end of the season. So who the backup middle infielder is does not really matter because they are only going to get a few AB's a week.
  22. It would be nice if the Twins would try something new, actually acquire a proven player and plug them in the rotation or starting lineup. This constant acquiring of players who need work and hope you can get them right is no way to build a team. Taking a shot here or there is one thing but this is the organization's philosophy for nearly every acquistion and it is getting tiresome.
  23. For all of the proponents of piggybacking, this game is the perfect example of why it only works on paper. You have to take into consideration the game situation when the second pitcher comes in. Sometimes a starter needs a little time to settle in and Abel was not going to have that with only a 2 run lead. This was destined to be a disaster from the beginning especially with his command issues. And Lee's error did not help but all pitchers deal with that. Stop with this insanity, it doesn't work. This organization seems to think they are playing Strat-o-Matic, this is real life baseball, give players a role and some continuity. Either send some starters to the bullpen for the rest of the year or send Abel and others to St. Paul to get regular work. They are going to have 8 starters when Festa comes back. They need to make some decisions. Either move guys permanently to the bullpen or trade some starters. All these trades did was bring back more starting pitching similar to what we already had. What happened to trading to strengthen your roster. Now they have an excess of young pitchers that are all very similar to potential outcomes. And they need help in the bullpen, if you are going to struggle, do it with players that have a chance to be on the team next year. Guys like Cabrera and Kriskie should be nowhere a major league mound.
  24. While I agree they should play everyone on the roster where do you play him when he is primarily a middle infielder. Those are the two spots that we have players that need extended playing time and find out what they have for next year. If you want him at 1B then I would concur or even giving Keaschal timel over there but they don't seem inclined to do that.
