  1. Seth, How did you write such a good report if you were not at the game? Was it on tv? Did you have a ticker tape to follow the play by play, like in the old days when Ronald Reagan was a broadcaster, as you wrote your summary? Your story was so well written, I assumed you attended the game. Amazing job of writing.
  2. I loved to see Culpepper hit behind the runner, to score Jenkins from 2B. The Twins could have used some hitting like that on Thursday. Prielipp was really good. Seth, your report was excellent. I had been excitedly anticipating this first Saints game report from you, Your excellent writing was a real treat.I assume you were at the game. Do you sit in the press box? Does the Saints staff feed the folks in the press box? If so, what do they feed you? If not, why don't they feed you? It would make sense, be inexpensive and create more goodwill. Thank you. for a wonderful read to begin my day.
  3. "Every time something started to build, it disappeared just as quickly. That's just baseball sometimes." I disagree the conclusion of these two statements in this article article. I would change the conclusion to "That's just baseball ALWAYS, when batters fail to advance the runners by hitting behind the runners or by bunting the runners over or by grounding into 3 rally-killing double plays."
  4. How many innings per game will Joe Ryan be allow to pitch? The Joe Ryan Experience was on full display yesterday and the results were terrific.
  5. We have just seen the 2026 Twins team in a microcosm in this 2-1 loss. Great starting pitching, the relievers let in all the runs, the Twins hitters hit zero balls behind the runners to move the numerous runners along, no bunts, grounded into 3 double plays and 1-12 with runners in scoring position. Alas.
  6. Since Lewis doesn't do slumps, I have to believe this is permanent.
  7. Just listing my personal favorites...I admit Blyleven and Kaat are in the Hall of Fame and Santana could have been with a couple of more years of good numbers. However when I was a kid, Pascual and Ramos and Roy Sievers and Jim Lemon were the stars of some very weak Senators' teams.
  8. I am sorry I can't make it to what sounds like a wonderful time with other Twins' fans. I live in North Carolina. But I will be there in spirit. Go Twins.
  9. Very good point Indiana. I should have included Ryan and Lopez, who are two of my all time favorite Senators/Twins' pitchers, along with Pedro Ramos and Camilo Pascual
  10. Good points Jeff. I would prefer Keaschall at 2B or 1B, rather than the OF. Unfortunately I neglected to mention Keaschall in my post about Lee. My error. In 2027 an infield of Culpepper at 3B, Houston at SS, Keaschall at 2b and switch hitting Lee as a super utility player, with possibly Wallner at 1B would be nice. OF of Emma, Jenkins and Buck could be good. Gonzalez will need to play somewhere, possibly alternate DH with Buck. Tait would advance quickly and be the starting catcher at age 21. Add Dasan Hill, Quick, Ellwanger, Soto, Abel, Mathews and Prielipp and some bullpen flamethrowers and the Twins will do well for several years. That's my wish when I blow out my birthday candles. Plus world peace.
  11. How would Lee be playing 2B, with Houston at SS and Culpepper at 3B? Or should Lee be a super infield utility guy? Or 1st base? He won't remain at SS when Culpepper and Houston are ready for the bigs.
  12. Tait gave me a baseball after I told him nice catch on a wild Dasan Hill pitch at one of the back fields where the pitchers throw in a line to various catchers.. Watching and listening at this location early in the morning is my favorite spring training pastime. .
  13. Emma's power may be rated the highest of any Twins prospect. But not his hit tool. He strikes out too much and chases pitches out of the strike zone. Emma will be a good major league player soon due to his impressive power and fielding skills.
  14. But Houston's fielding is a thing of beauty at the key position. He knows what he has to do He is smart. I bet he will improve his hitting this year.
  15. Not yet, but he is only 19. He will be an amazing player for the Twins soon. He has a nice, fan friendly attitude. I discovered that at spring training this year when we had a conversation and he gave me a baseball that he and Dasan Hill had been throwing.
  16. I was glad I could scoop up that wild throw of yours to first base and save you an error.
  17. What do I know. Outman hit 2 homers today...4 for the spring training season. Plus he can run like a scalded cat.
