  1. Would not surprise me if Dansan and Esco were replaced.
  2. Time for Shaggy to close now. He got his coffee last year. He is good to go.
  3. Changes like this are to be expected as the new leadership gains familiarity with all the players. Their willingness to direct some real in house talent towards a bullpen that in the past was largely a scrap heap of recycled players gets me excited. It shows that a dominant bullpen is on their radar screen and not an afterthought as in the past.
  4. My reasoning is that Polanco appears to be a more poised hitter with better ability to get on base at this juncture. I get what you are saying though.
  5. RH Polanco Buxton Dozier Sano Kepler Vargas Mauer 1B Castro Rosario LH Polanco Buxton Dozier Sano Kepler Vargas Park 1B Castro Rosario
  6. I would platoon Castro/Garver at a 65/35 percent rate. Nice mix of a veteran catcher and an emerging catcher. If Garver isn't ready, then Murphy comes up. I would not have two vets on the major league roster this year. Plus, if zach.jezierski is right, Mauer will catch a few games too!
  7. I'm warming up to this "Mauer behind the dish thing." You might be on to something with this idea.
  8. Hunter Greene's build reminds me of Dave Winfield.
  9. There has been some coverage of Gibson using some new training drills to get ready for the season(using a bouncy ball). I'm surprised that the new methods Hughes is utilizing have not garnered the same media coverage. Just yesterday he was spotted soft tossing his rib in to a pitch back and then catching it. Rumor has it, the rib has the same aerodynamic characteristics as a boomerang. Stay tuned for more modern training methods!
  10. That would be totally humorous if he pulled out the rib and spiked it on the field after a complete game shutout!
  11. What are the chances of Vielma getting the shortstop position just for his defense?
  12. I didn't quote anyone and I wasn't addressing anyone in particular. It was just a general statement about the team.
  13. I think I would like to see how the team responds to the new philosophy and teaching methods before I go calling a relatively inactive offseason a failure. Secondly, I would prefer that the new leadership get a preseason and even some regular season of evaluating what we have under their belt prior to making any radical moves.
  14. I think sending him down is the right move. There are some on this thread that feel it is best to keep throwing him out there at the MLB level until he gets it. I would argue that there needs to be at least some level of competency for that to work. Any player working towards the next level needs to feel some level of success to reinforce what he is working on. Right now I bet he just feels like he is letting his team down. In AAA I hope he keeps it simple. Work on putting the ball in play a higher percentage of the time. Maybe shorten the swing a little and get in line with the pitch and see it in a more direct plane instead of standing over your hit zone and reaching for the ball. The timing of when he rolls his wrists over during his swing is much harder to make consistent with the current length of his swing.
  15. Nolasco on the bump tonight?!!! Here I was looking forward to watching the game. I need to say this to relieve stress......he SUUUUCKS!!!
  16. Kennys Vargas playing every day at first base. Average Joe sitting on the bench until he gets tired enough of it. Park getting hot in AAA and then traded.
  17. It has been fun to watch the Twins these past couple weeks. The young players are showing exciting things and vets are rebuilding trade value as hoped. I hope we take advantage of the increased trade value and don't fall for fools gold. One exception, I keep Irvin Santana. Without him we go way to thin on SP. I keep playing Vargas at first and place Mauer on the bench.
  18. Please tell me my monkey-butt post was not number 500000.
  19. Four hours from now when this game ends there's gunna be a fight over the monkey-butt cream in the clubhouse.
