  1. I think you nailed the takeoff and stuck the landing on this one Cody.
  2. Spring training games are so irelivent. The best training happens in practice. I feel like these so called games are just teams going through the motions because they are required to.
  3. Rooker might be a horse and the timing is right for him. I would not look past him to get to Kiriloff a few weeks early as some suggest. We have been needing a good right handed outfield bat for a while and he is on the brink of breaking through. When Kiriloff moves up I suggest that it not be at the peril of Rooker.
  4. He has played all over the field and hit all over the batting order yet still puts up great stats.I can't help but think that if he had a starting spot at 2b and batted leadoff every day that the consistent role might net him an all star team selection for many years.
  5. I hope I end up being wrong and looking stupid for saying this. I really do. I feel that an extension would be dead money for a large portion of the contract term.
  6. I like this idea a lot. It gets Arraez back in the starting lineup. Toss in Sano instead of the comp pick. Rooker to left field and Kiriloff to 1B.
  7. I go Rooker in left. Kiriloff to St. Paul to train at 1B. After a hot Sano start trade Sano. Plug Kiriloff in at 1B. Later in the season, provided he stays healthy that long, trade Buxton, Move Kepler to CF, plug in Larnach in right field. Next season plug in last year's top pick(I forgot his name) at DH. Or the next best hitting prospect that is not too good defensively. You hopefully get pitching back in these transactions. If not, spend saved Buxton/Sano dollars on a top 3 starter.
  8. The best ability is availability. Until he punches that box I'm not impressed.
  9. I don't have any statistical savant info to back my opinion up. So I very well could be wrong in my opinion. It just seems like has been labeled as a 1 for a while now and I'm waiting for him to make me feel like it's lights out time when his spot in the rotation comes up. But I find myself wondering which Berrios we are going to get each time. Again, no science to back that up. But, does anyone else feel this way?
  10. IMHO he is a 3 or 4 until he pitches his way in to a 1 or 2. Thus far he has been put in as a 1 or 2 based on potential. I don't care for that.
  11. I like having bot Arrias and the turtle on the squad. Love their compete levels and attitudes. Infield and 3rd catcher/backup infielder. Done.
  12. Good 4th starter adition. Fill the 5 in house and I think we are in good shape. I don't understand why replacing Polanco is viewed as such an emergency by some. I understand and have read the data. It just seems like we need a reliever and the rest is in house. Oh and also sign Cruz.
  13. Keep Cruz until he burns out. Make him a member of the coaching staff when he begins to rust. He is still a stud.
  14. I would like to see Sano traded and Kiriloff at 1B, Larnach, Rooker, Buxton and Kepler as our outfielder mix. Maybe move Cave in a Sano deal too.
  15. Love the Semien idea and then have Blankenhorn and Polanco as utilities.
  16. I would like to see Sano traded and Cruz signed for 1 year with a team option for a second year. Then sign him as an assistant hitting coach.
  17. I have no idea why the top 4 starter spots are considered locks. Gibson and Berrios yes. Beyond that we got big question marks. Didn't Odorizi and Penida have like 4.40 era's in both of their last full seasons?
  18. The sooner the leash on the Buxton/Sano farce is pulled the better. Start not planning around them.
  19. I feel he should be placed in the number 5 spot.
  20. I hope Astudillo makes the 25. I see him as being valuable on many levels. One of them being that he is fun. I'm optimistic about the new coach having a positive effect on this young group. I like what is being said by him about having fun and playing loose. Should fit this group well. The new additions to the roster seem better than Dozier, Morrison and name your DH of the day. Pendida working out, Bux and Sano staying healthy would be pluses obviously. There's enough "ifs" and I hope a few work out.
  21. Very interesting article. Gets me jacked knowing we have these great prospects.
  22. I love the pick up mainly because it sets a target out in front of the guys you hope will take the next step while providing them with an example of the work ethic it takes to get there. Great pickup by management.
