    I predict that the Twins will play good team baseball. And while i'm at it, i also predict i'll post a comment or two on twinsdaily. I know i'm going out on a limb here. 2 of them in fact. And i'm more likely to get to places on my own 2 legs. As they say, 4 legs good, 2 legs... er... subject to debate.

    Re: Too much pitching. It is possible and leaves me a bit quesy. I'd much rather be rolling. (Yaw is right out) Oh you were talking about baseball? And perhaps you meant pitching talent? If there is some zero sum talentwise involved, i am sure there is a point of diminishing pitching returns, when it is better to invest in other talent to round out the team. No i don't think the Twins are there yet. I am wondering how the younger untried talent will step up of given half a chance, amd of course i am looking forward to the season as i bet most folk here and wondering how the free agent situation will shake out. Bummer about Santana's finger, but not the end of the world as we know it...

As to the "one player away" from a world series, Obviously one player does not a team make, but they can do a lot... i vaguely remember a few years back, when someone batted like .600 for the post season. He wasn't on a bad team, but the weird capacity to declare that no one will get him out for a couple of weeks probably would take almost any team to another level. That team brought yet another championship to the New England area despite the fact baseballs are not inflated. I should remember what that fellow's name was...

    I have a soft spot for flyball pitchers, given our outfield. That is as much thought as i'd prefer to put into the issue.

    Good point. And i applaud your resolute action thus inspired. I was also going to point out that if the market seems slower to develop this year than previously, it could be in part due to our feistly little FO getting down and dirty and actually making competitive offers such that those free agents decisions are not so cut and dry as they may have been in previous years. If there is such a thing as a good time for it, i might as well start holding my breath,,. And i probably will stay up a bit later, although that is perhaps more because a weird sleep schedule than anything else.

    Ya got me. I didn't know that's what they were calling him. There would be something unny about introducing oneself as Maturity... And my apologies, i have not really been paying as close attention to the Twins off season as it warrents. I don't get to learn the entire Dodgers roster because obviously we are holding out for a 25 for Dozier swap...

    As i consider this creatively, i would probably dream big and not be bound by shallow concerns like reality. and the cy young choice unanimous. 2 mvps 3 gold gloves 4 silver sluggers 5 east coast sweeps 6 all-star players 7 healthy starters 8 shutdown relievers 9 mashing batters 10 game august lead 11 cups of coffee 12 wins post season but alas, that has no inherent commentary on the off season, do it? Anyhow, Happy New Years!

    New we were gonna sign someone soon... How much did we sign Maturity for? And for how many years? Personally, i hope it's a minor league contract with invite to spring training. Joking aside, it sure is good to keep things in perspective.

    True. If i'd paid attention last year, i woulda noticed. Thanks for reminding me! Though knowing something you don't think others do could be an advantage, and could make one extra cautious about showing your hand. Yeah, in reality, i think managing these things is potentially exceedingly complex, and that makes it more fun to try and suss out the whys and wherefores of strange events.

    Ya know, it actually crazy sort of way, it would be a cool narrative to think of this a clever ploy. Dark and shrouded room... nameless parodies of a Twins management... "We just got ot have Kinley." "But there are like, 20 whole teams ahead of us. Someone is bound to take him before us." "But if we dangle some other pretty good prospects off of our 40 man roster into the rule V draft, he just may slip through to us..." "You know, that's just crazy enough to work!" "Now the only question remains is, who...?" Anyway, don't mind me... i'll be in the other room with my over active imagination, try to figure out how angry the agent of a player drafted by and returned to their own team without being added to either the 25 or 40 man roster would be...
