  1. Have we emerged victorious from the field of athletic competition by this point in time, being when you are reading this post, rather than the time i am posting it? If i have a busy evening, Monday might be it these days, so i need to say clever things now. I think it is clear to everyone i intereact with how intellectually challenged i am, and how i do all i can to cover for it by the use of clever words and distracting jokes. And at this stage of my life, i wouldn't want to weigh anyone down with being even remotely responsible for me in any way, so alas, i got no commentary to make on marital bliss, other than perhaps to avoid misspelling it by swapping the i and t. This here post is my round about way of saying thanks for putting up with me! Oh, and go Twins! If i got a second team, it is still the Pirates from Doug's days there. So this is a particularly fun series.
  2. This has been your C&C Remaining Monthly Available Game Thread Intro Update. Rmagtiu... rolls off the tongue, no? Alas, it is hard to roll it back on. I have a feeling this will not catch on... Mmmm... Game Threads!
  3. I predict that the Twins will play good team baseball. And while i'm at it, i also predict i'll post a comment or two on twinsdaily. I know i'm going out on a limb here. 2 of them in fact. And i'm more likely to get to places on my own 2 legs. As they say, 4 legs good, 2 legs... er... subject to debate.
  4. Re: Too much pitching. It is possible and leaves me a bit quesy. I'd much rather be rolling. (Yaw is right out) Oh you were talking about baseball? And perhaps you meant pitching talent? If there is some zero sum talentwise involved, i am sure there is a point of diminishing pitching returns, when it is better to invest in other talent to round out the team. No i don't think the Twins are there yet. I am wondering how the younger untried talent will step up of given half a chance, amd of course i am looking forward to the season as i bet most folk here and wondering how the free agent situation will shake out. Bummer about Santana's finger, but not the end of the world as we know it...
  5. True. If i'd paid attention last year, i woulda noticed. Thanks for reminding me! Though knowing something you don't think others do could be an advantage, and could make one extra cautious about showing your hand. Yeah, in reality, i think managing these things is potentially exceedingly complex, and that makes it more fun to try and suss out the whys and wherefores of strange events.
  6. Ya know, it actually crazy sort of way, it would be a cool narrative to think of this a clever ploy. Dark and shrouded room... nameless parodies of a Twins management... "We just got ot have Kinley." "But there are like, 20 whole teams ahead of us. Someone is bound to take him before us." "But if we dangle some other pretty good prospects off of our 40 man roster into the rule V draft, he just may slip through to us..." "You know, that's just crazy enough to work!" "Now the only question remains is, who...?" Anyway, don't mind me... i'll be in the other room with my over active imagination, try to figure out how angry the agent of a player drafted by and returned to their own team without being added to either the 25 or 40 man roster would be...
  7. 14 K/9 in lower leagues probably won't pan out in the Majors... Gotta have at least 28 K/9 for me to buy in. Rule V draft does indeed make for interestig decisions...
  8. I am reminded of a tale from some hallmark hairball book if memory serves about the author being disappointed in watching a storied pool shark play. He ran the table, but every shot was an easy shot. Anyone coulda done that! Perhaps there is a similar element in play here? Anyway, someday i might get a high horse, i just have never been good at horse trading...
  9. Surely there must be better role models for us...
  10. Indeed. We must be in the wrong hemisphere again...
  11. Nah, just trying not to take out on any of y'all... There are other windmills to joust...
  12. Well, it was a fine season. Thanks all for the company!
  13. Alas, this is neither horseshoes nor hand granades...
  14. Dozier earns a walk. Two runners on. An opportunity, me thinks.
  15. Down 7-4 in the top of the 5th, Granite with a lead off single. Circus Boy has been Updated.
  16. Bean ball is indeed the tried and true David vs. Goliath strategy...
  17. Yeah, i am at a place what will be closing up before the game ends... But it ain't over yet! Granite's got Buxton's back!
