  1. A couple of notes. As much as I look forward to guys like Dozier and Sano coming to the plate, it seems like every guy we send to the plate has the possibility putting it into the seats or getting a big hit. That's what makes this team fun to watch and there are guys that haven't even hit there stride yet. This is a really explosive offense that is starting to consistently take quality at bats. On Gibson - yesterday the laws of probability didn't catch up to him. He was in a precarious position a lot, but the Mariners left a pile of guys on base and the 2 runs in the first were the only damage in what could have been an early blowout. While the defense didn't exactly help him yesterday, Gibson isn't exactly helping himself either. The lead off hitter was on base frequently yesterday, the 6 walks in the previous start. Those are bullets that Gibson has been dodging. He'll have to improve or eventually, those bullets will get ya.
  2. It's not about them Mike. It's about me and my Twins. I don't like cold weather baseball. The Twins don't like cold weather baseball. It's the price they should pay for living in a warm weather city.
  3. I like the idea of starting off in division so that the games can be made up easier on a later date. I also like the idea of scheduling to warm weather home games early on (TB, HOU, TX, ARI, LA, ATL, etc, and I like the PR games as well). It wouldn't even bother me to have them play in warm weather environments in the south similar to the PR game. Bottom line is that I hate cold weather and therefore, I hate cold weather baseball.
  4. I'll take .667 on the road and .600 at home!
  5. I think we need to get used to close losses and competitive games. With the talent on this team, I see us battling in every game. I think we will have some blowout wins and some tough, tight losses. Remember, if you go .500 on the road and .667 at home, you are having a great year.
  6. Looks like he is swinging out of his shoes. Maybe the #4 spot has gone to his head a bit.
  7. The batters have no idea where the ball is going and neither does he.
  8. I believe we now have the Zach Duke experience to go with the Fernando Rodney experience.
  9. First hit for Morrison as a Twin!
  10. Yup. Outside of him, they are thin.
  11. Now it's getting interesting. Bucs bullpen is not good.
  12. Wow! That is a tight strike zone.
  13. OK, boys, let's get to the Pirates bullpen and get back into this thing.
  14. I'm guessing the end result of all the shift happy defenses is that guys will have to improve their bunting skills. At least that is my hope.
  15. Hate to say it but that one missed called strike may have cost Lynn 4 runs....well, that and the 3 walks.
  16. Well, there's the 5 of that 5-3 loss I predicted. Not a lot of room for error the rest of the game. Hope that was first inning jitters. Also, would like to see Morrison get a hit today to get him going, but no DH today.
  17. Nah. I'll predict a series split, but I'm not feeling the enthusiasm on this chilly Pittsburgh day. 5-3 loss.
  18. I've been married for almost 22 years and my wife thinks I'm the stupidest man on earth. I'm content to let her think that because I figure if her expectations remain low, it's tough for me to disappoint.
  19. Simma down people! It's one game and a good competitive game on the road. Remember a few years back when we started of 0-9 and were not at all competitive in those 9 games? And yet that team came back to be competitive! We are light years ahead of that team. We were one great catch in the outfield in the 2nd inning away from winning the game. Rosario hammered that into the wind and got robbed by a great catch. Great AB by Kepleroni! That was a mature at bat. As these young guys mature we are going to witness something amazing. Go Twins!
  20. Baseball...gotta love the craziness of baseball.
  21. 29 pitches in this inning so far...could get crazy from here.
  22. Time for something crazy to happen.
