  1. Sad. A strange world we live in.
  2. He has been just fine, though not spectacular. Injuries, specifically to the O-line, have made things difficult.
  3. I was about to post this too. This is the precursor?
  4. I love your consistency on your source info. I will continue observing this thread.
  5. I won't go into all the details, but there was a lot of talk about your mom.
  6. I've never been meme'd before. It's quite satisfying.
  7. This is a good hire as long as he gets rid of the pop-pop-pop "rockets red glare" fireworks display of mediocrity.
  8. We just need to duplicate that scenario again to reverse the jinx. The next time we're in Toronto, whenever someone gets on first base, we should try to just hit nothing but grounders to 2B until the runner gets a knee to the head. Although, then the runner will probably wake up, and realize it was all a dream. And instead of being a baseball player, he's really a writer who runs a bed and breakfast with his wife in Vermont.
  9. If I have an addiction to Twins Daily (I do), it is predominantly fed by the Minor League Reports. Keep it up, unless you want me to get the shakes (you don't). Thank you for feeding my need.
  10. I'm in favor of pitch counts for all leagues where players can be under age 18, and for public institutions (i.e., high school, college), too. I just think that reaching into non-professional leagues filled with adults is reaching too far. If the guys playing in these amateur leagues feel like they have a future in professional ball somewhere, then they can determine for themselves how and when to throw to both showcase their abilities and protect their asset (arm). If they don't feel like they have a future in pro ball, or if they just are driven to compete until the cows come home (literally. it's milking time then.), then that's their choice. Yep, their bodies might break down and that will suck when it happens, but it doesn't need to be legislated. Regarding this issue, the State B Tourney (where Moorhead played) featured 22 games that took place over 3 weekends at 3 venues and involved 16 teams from all over the state (Duluth, Moorhead, Rochester, for example). They play doubleheaders because they have to in order to get the games in to determine a champion. And if they've played town ball all summer and are at the state tourney, these guys all want to be the champion.
  11. My mom won't like it (she literally clutched her chest when I mentioned the possibility of trading Dozier a couple of weeks ago), but if the deal is right, make it happen.
  12. Yeah, 222 pitches is a big number, but what's the problem? The guy is an adult (23 years old), they asked him if he felt OK, he said he did, so he kept pitching. Judging by the picture, he's pretty content with his accomplishment. There's plenty of town ball teams that could tell similar stories. Did you also know that on golf courses all around the country, golfers continue to try to squeeze one more hole in before the storm comes? Keith Law and others should be made aware.
  13. In my medical opinion, the shoulder issue was caused by "they call me up and sit me in the bullpen for around 10 days" with a hint of "oh good, I get to start - wait, what do you mean you're pulling me in the 3rd inning?" Medically speaking.
  14. The first name I thought of was Bernardo Brito. I really wanted him to be something with the Twins. I loved his name.
  15. It'll be fun to see how well he does in Korea. ...... I'm really sorry about that comment, everyone. Mom always said, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." But we didn't have the internet back then, so I have no idea how to apply the things Mom said about talking to the things I type on the computer. I wish there were a way to delete those words, but I'm completely lost with this keyboard thing. Why are all these letters mixed up, but the numbers are in order? And the numbers are in order in two spots! But the letters? All messed up! It takes so long to find each one. I've been typing for the last 52 minutes now. Anyway, I can't erase the words I've already typed. They are just there. Forever. And there's nothing I can do about it. Just like the Twins can't do anything to make themselves competitive in 2017. ..... My goodness. What is wrong with me? I'm sorry about that last comment, too. I really thought I had it out of my system after the first one, but apparently not. OK, I'll stop now, before I do something that I regret. Like attend another game this year. ..... AAAAUUUUGGGHHH!!!! It's a never ending cycle! OK. I'll stop. Right now. Also, congratulations to Lewin Diaz, and I hope he becomes a superstar for whatever team picks him up after we release him. ..... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So sorry. Sincerely, scottz
  16. There is more short term hope built and crushed being a Vikings fan. Never mind the Super Bowl or lack thereof, the rush and crush cycle is more acute. With the Twins, the rises are more gentle, and the valleys are elongated. The Vikings are the hottie you're madly in love with for 2 to 5 months, and who always breaks up with you. Sometimes you see it coming, sometimes you don't. But it always happens. Somehow, you always run into each other in late summer and hit it off again. By fall, you somehow end up back together for another 2 to 5 months. You know it won't ever really work out, but you can't stop, because you love the good times too much to quit completely. The Twins are your long-term steady. You've been with them forever and you have so many memories together. You don't always agree, but you know they are there for you pretty much any day or night you want them to be. You've been with them so long, that you don't even realize that you don't always enjoy being around them all the time, or that when they do something terrible you just kind of accept it as the way things are. "When did we get like this? Why do I stand for some of these decisions that they keep making," you ask yourself. A lot of times, you take more joy in watching the kids grow up than anything you actually get out of the relationship. But you believe deep down that this is who you should be with, and you always have hope that things will get better. You hope, and you stay.
  17. He is. And he's stuck in a time loop where his first name changes slightly each time he tries to re-invent himself as a pitcher.
  18. Alan Embree? This Alan Embree?
