    Not sure about Duran here. But, maybe not a bad idea. With the options left, there’s enough of a likelihood that they will turn it into a save situation and you use him anyway. And with Duran’s hiccups lately, it may be a chance to get back on the horse. (And I’m not sure I want to be a Pittsburgh hitter right now, knowing that your pitcher just plunked two guys and that threat of getting even is out there.)

    Tonight's opponent reminds me of some historical fiction I was reading recently. it was about how William Penn sent for his relatives to join him in the states. His mother's family was attacked by swashbucklers. His mother escaped, but her sisters were kidnapped. By the Pirates of Penn's aunts.

    The one constant through all the years Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It’s been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again.     Made my first jaunt to Riverfront Stadium to see the Surge and was rewarded with six no-hit innings. Spiffy stadium, spiffy start.

    My bad. I’m on a train in central Missouri with spotty internet. The standings page hadn’t updated yet. Speaking of traveling, I told my suitcase it had to stay home. Now I’m dealing with emotional baggage.

    Concur. Which is another advantage the Twins have -- that their offense has often "gone missing." They have a much better chance of finding it than Cleveland has of creating it.

    As a 1988 grad, I can unfortunately report that a fair number of Maple Leafs didn't have good seasons pitching. 😀 New coach on board, however, and I've heard only good things about him.
