  1. To third base he went on the error. He must be a base running terror. A sac fly by Robbie, Who's doing the jobbie, Let's grill the Reds medium rarer.
  2. We should call e.e. the Poet, When he's on, he can hit, we know it. With a run-scoring double, the Reds are in trouble, Unless like last night we blow it.
  3. Good perspective, including your notes on pitch usage. A change-up is a touch pitch. I wonder if part of not using it as much is not feeling like he has that. So far, his number of days of rest has gone 5-0-4-0-6-1-6. That's essentially a starter's pattern, not a closer's. It doesn't seem too surprising to have inconsistent results with that kind of a pattern. And to anticipate the Molitor-bashing, sure, it would have been ideal to use him on Monday or Tuesday, but it's also tough to do that in a non-save situation when you don't know if you might need him the next three days in a row.
  4. Sorry, but I'm not putting this on Rodney: Others have mentioned the lack of RISPy-ness and the unearned run resulting from the Gold Glover. Only then... 1. Sano doesn't handle ball cleanly. 2. Sano rushes a throw he still has time on, throwing it in the dirt. 3. Morrison can't handle a ball that is scoopable.* *After just coming in as a defensive substition, when, as has been pointed out, it would have helped the defense to eat the DH spot and insert Mauer. 4. Trying to make up for it, Sano cuts in front of Adrianza to field a ball that Adrianza would have at least had a shot at. 5. Rodney gives up homer.
  5. A 100 degree launch angle would be a foul pop, right? Or is that too much math? (I'll save y'all the keystrokes -- "Yes.")
  6. Careful. A few more intros like this and they'll want you to do it full time. Best line: "For a bonus thrill..." (though calling up Kelly Leak sounds like a good idea too).
  7. I love BBQ, but in Iowa the focus is this: http://www.iowapork.org/tenderloin-trail/ I'm working my way through it. Here's No. 3 on the list:
  8. And there's the rub... Though there's been a few players I wasn't a fan of over the year (plus Ozzie), my primarily dislike of the Sox has been because of Hawk, and he has less than 20 games left. What's a person to do when the new guy is actually quite enjoyable to listen to?
  9. You know that nachos are horrible for your health, right? I'm not talking about the cheese. I'm just saying that the next time you go back to the kitchen for more, you're going to get met by several TD moderators with crowbars. Now knock it off, and stop at Taco Bell on the way home tomorrow evening.
  10. I'm telling ya'll -- Frosty the Sano-Man.
  11. Don't know about Joe, but I sure did. Great classic from my childhood. Also by the same author is a biography -- Ryan LaMarre: The Kid Who BABIPed 1.000.
  12. Ain’t that right, LaMarre?!?!? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2jU7ssgGzfc
  13. Frosty the Sano-Man!!! Thumpety-thump-thump, thumpety-thump-thump, look at Frosty go!
  14. I wanted to give others a chance to guess. And now the answer has changed. With two steals this year, Chase Utley has passed Alexi. The rest of the top 10 is Carlos Beltran, Jack Perconte, Jayson Werth, Kaz Matsui, Eric Byrnes, Jason Bay, Nate McLouthand Jarrod Dyson. To me, Beltran is by far the most impressive, since Dyson is the only one who has even half the steals Beltran does. Worth noting is that Eric Davis and Tim Raines are just outside the top 10.
  15. What? Mauer’s contract is about to run out? How come nobody told me?
  16. Wow — the Twins 5 through 8 hitters are batting a combined .429! That’s how that works, right?
  17. Yeah, the Houston Chems doesn’t have the same ring.
  18. To borrow from two earlier themes, as an EDT resident, I’m going to go put another blanket on my 64 degree bed and hit the sack. We had snow here in northern Indiana earlier this evening.
  19. When I die, I hope to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandpa did, not yelling and screaming like the people in his car.
  20. My wife is a special education teacher. She gets lots of nice compliments on her "Dyslexics are teople poo" t-shirt.
  21. Yeah, I should edit my "68 in winter" to specify that that's daytime. We drop it at at night too, to 64.
  22. You must be setting mine as well -- same thing.
  23. And in Chicago in April, I've been to games in shorts, and in full winter gear. The only advice I give to anyone wanting to attend games at Guaranteed Rate Field in April is to get seats in left field ... where the sun shines. Nobody WANTS to attend a game at The Monument To Cement. Ever. In any part of the stadium. We just make the sacrifice and tolerate the setting in order to see the Twins. But if one is going to do so, your advice is good. And whatever you do, don’t get upper deck seats unless you have taken rappelling lessons.
