  1. Nice grab by a fan on a foul ball. Guy about 12 rows down, stands up, turns around and yells, “Excuse me, sir. Could you play for us? We need you.”
  2. What if we’re watching in person? Folks, if you see a guy in a Oliva shersey down the right field line, stop by my seat and say, “Hello.” Oh, and we’re still 10 minutes from starting, but it appears there will be plenty of good seats available.
  3. Winder was injury insurance last night. Ober is on the way back, and now I’m wondering if Aaron Sanchez is turning into rotation insurance in St. Paul. I think the preferred way to injury insurance for the starters is a better bullpen.
  4. I think he was mainly just trying to get it back to the infield as quickly as possible. But yes, Urshela made a good play in going to the ball rather than letting it come to him.
  5. I think the title of the article should have been "The Five Best Relief Pitcher Targets for the Twins After Trading for David Robertson."
  6. I completely agree it wasn't defensible for Engel to not be tagging. And Moncada can't go more than two-thirds of the way. Which makes it's one of the rare times I agree with Ozzie! And to those trying to defend it, I say you have to know who the outfielder is.
  7. Funny thing on the triple play. I’ve had some text conversations with friends and the tone has been, “It’s slightly defensible because of how unusual the catch was.” But for those of us who see Buxton regularly, the sense is, “Great play, but not at all unusual for Buxton, and nowhere near one of his best catches.” I guess it just goes to show how spoiled we are by having the best centerfielder on the planet. We see the fly ball and say there’s no way that Engel shouldn’t have been standing on second base. (Priceless was the stunned look on LaRussa’s face after the play.)
  8. In his defense, the home plate ump really had a bad game. That one wasn’t close, but he blew a whole bunch.
  9. Probably not. If it’s a three-run game, it will be a save, since the tying run is on deck when then inning starts. If it’s a four-run game, I don’t think you deserve a save coming in with just a runner on second.
  10. Ooh, I’m staying around on the ChiSox broadcast — the LaRussa postgame interview should be great!
  11. Not sure if Miranda makes that play, so the defensive substitution of pinch running Gordon seems to have been beneficial there.
  12. Engel’s on second, so this should work out great with a fly ball to center.
  13. They didn’t have LaRussa’s insights available.
  14. Now let’s a few more and go to Gordon.
  15. Let’s get a few more and indeed go to Megill.
  16. Well, I guess my buddy won’t have to worry about LaRussa screwing up anymore tonight!
  17. Sox telecast just showed the Kelly/Correa kerfluffle from a couple years ago, just before showing ball four.
  18. I tend to be pretty forgiving, but this ump has had a rough night, both ways.
