    Hopefully Molitor will make better use of his relievers this year. It seemed like some of Tonkin's issues last year were due to mismanagement. Taylor Rodgers also seems like the definition of LOOGY. Hopefully Molitor doesn't try to make him pitch to righties too much.

    I hope he is able to play adequate defense. Have there been any reports of efforts he's making to improve his defense? I hope that he can learn to cut down on the strikeouts as well. He has a ton of potential.

    I'm much more pessimistic. I expect significant regression & huge disappointment across Twins Territory that he wasn't traded. I expect a batting average of about .250 and less than 30 HRs. I hope it's not the case, but MN sports fans aren't allowed to have anything nice so I don't want to get my hopes up...

    I like the idea of limiting his starts against LHP. I hope that helps to buoy his slash line both by playing to his strength against RHP & by allowing him extra rest as he gets older. Park seems to be hitting well enough to be a great substitute in the lineup against LHP.

    I like the idea of Grossman leading off against LHP only. And then once the game goes to the bullpen you pull him and put in Mauer or someone else to face the RHP from the bullpen. I could live with Mauer leading off against RHP only as long as he sustains an OBP at least as high as his .363 from last year.

    I know Grossman is bad defensively, but which is better against LHP: Grossman in LF, Vargas at DH, Mauer at 1B, or...Rosario in LF, Vargas at 1B, Grossman at DH?Vargas is worse than Mauer defensively and Grossman is worse than Rosario. How do you manage those 3 against LHP?

    This article is very realistic. I want to hope for improvement, but I don't expect it.

    I predict that Dozier is going to slump now and his value will only plummet. That's just the way it works in #Minnesotasports... *sigh*

    Why make the home fans suffer? I'd rather see Mauer play mostly on the road & let the youngsters play in front of the home fans. Then the home fans can get excited about the future instead of being frustrated by watching Mauer's poor ABs that end in Ks way too often now.

    If a pitcher thinks he's superior to others & can be effective when injured it shows that this individual thinks he is superior to others.

    I've been a reader since 2012 and I didn't know about some of these features. I really like the newsletter. Receiving it prompts me to visit TD at least 2-3 times per week.

    I think that the bullpen situation shows why Molitor should have been among the coaching staff members that were let go. He proved completely incompetent at managing his relievers. The use of O'Rourke and Rogers against RHB on a regular basis is inexcusable. Same thing with the use of Tonkin as a long reliever. That made no sense. I also believe that May's health & control issues at least partially relate to his move to the bullpen & the routine change it meant for him. Duffey should be in the bullpen & May should be starting.

    The problem is that I view it as quite unlikely that Dozier will play as well in 2017 as he did in 2016. I view 2016 as an aberration for his career & now is the time to trade him. If the Twins keep him to try to trade him during the season his value may well decline substantially.

    I don't agree with this at all. If he was hurting & ineffective he should have been modest enough to admit that there was a problem & seek help. Trying to "play through the pain" is just stupid & shows an ego problem.

    Are Garver & Turner friends after having spent all these years together in the Minor League system and being talked about together?

    If ABW was DFAd by the Brewers can the Twins now claim him without having to put him on the 40 man roster? I don't really understand how all those transactions work.

    I really like the idea of Duffey to the bullpen and May back to the starting rotation. I hope that happens.
