  1. I am on board with el Nunez as our ss. Keep on making the routine plays and his bat is helping.
  2. Ride Milone and Pelfrey and let May bolster our bullpen as eighth inning setup guy.
  3. Joe has sone power on high inside pitches like Dozier
  4. Hilite of the day was tori hunter commercial toward end of game. "Ryan told me would be good and suprise people"
  5. 13 innings and not one run I guess we don't need our best hitter in spring training. FREE ESCOBAR
  6. The combination of Escober at short and Santana in center or Santana at short at Schaefer in center. Which is our strongest lineup? I believe it is with Escober at short. Santana has a lot of tools as an athlete that makes us stronger in center without hoping that he can play good defence at short and Schafer will hit. What happens "if"Buxton comes up then what becomes of Santana? If Buxton is what they say he should become would an outfield of noth Buxton and Santana not be desireable? Escober and Dozier have those intangebles that good up the middle infields possess. Anyway that's my take this morning (have to kill time time somehow waiting for plane:-) Go Twinkies!
  7. Interesting article on Michael Brantley of Cleveland on how he changed his approach to hitting and resulted in more power and average. He used to have a Mauer like approach and his father finally convinced him to be more aggresive on hitters pitches by not taking so many and having to hit pitchers pitches. Hmmmmmmmm
  8. Pascual should be ahead of steady eddie in twins hof.
  9. I agree with this post. Can this mgmt hink outside the box?
  10. Today he had a triple and a double, line drives jump off his bat. He actually looks a lot like Morneau did. Dont know how long he had played in the outfield but he looked very comfortable out there.
  11. When I watch Buxton hit he dosent look ready. His defense does but has a way to go at the plate.
  12. I would not count out for next year. The pitching in the league is very good. Today three pitchers that threw 96-97. This is their cream of the crop. He is so smooth at what he does. The nall jumps off his bat.
  13. Have been going to AZ fall league games. I would not count out Max Kepler as one of our outfielders. Has power and a very smooth swing. Outfield defense looks more than adequate, arm strengh is very good. Big good looking athelete.
  14. Santana must not be our future shortstop? Nice move Gardy
  15. Its rediculous that Dozier is in hr contest rather than Abreau from White Sox. Love Dozier but this is wrong.
  16. Said Too bad Joe won't be able to play in the all star game:-)
  17. Deduno. Swarzak. Duensing. Deja view last Sunday versus Houston.
  18. I think we can have a nice serviceable cf combo of Fuld vs righties and Hicks vs lefties. Which means Kubel should be DFA. Left field Willingham/Parms/Nuenez combo.
  19. Does are pitching coach not see thst KC is throwing meat. Go out and chew his a... out!
  20. I believe Joe is an old dog that has to learn new tricks which is not easy when his system of hitting has has made him a high average hitter. I believe that his philosophy is/was to use his eyes to guage the pitcher thus taking first pitch. Because of so many first pitch strikes he now only gives himself one aggressive swing. When that swing dosent result in putting ball in play he then learned how to cut his swing way down and wait thus the smooth easy swing. It is not a powe swing, line drives and ground balls to left and left center. The outfield shifts have greatly hampered that. I don't believe there are many aggresive pull hitters who hit for average and this contadicts his success in his career. I have no doubt like most people on here that he should get more aggresive when batting and have more at bats with two aggresive swings in st ead of one. The average will stay below what he accustomed too but could eventually make him a more complete hitter to all fields plus more power. The question is can an old dog learn new tricks?
  21. Ken Kendrick of the Diamondbacks cited a study of drafts from 2002 thru 2012 which ranked the MLB teams in terms of most productive drafts. I assume by the number of players who had major league playing time. Not sure of exact criteria for MLB service but anyway the Diamondbacks were number one he said but they did not hang on to prospects because of trading them.(this was the catalyst for hiring Larussa) Does anyone know how the Twins ranked on this study?
  22. Mmmm Colabello in right field. Must want to divert his focus from hitting.
