What about National League with pitchers batting? They almost always hunt a runner over in those situations where a base runner can get into scoring position or to third with less than 2 outs. Is this bad baseball?
Signing any of the above SS long term would be a mistake. You'd be paying an old SS a ridiculous salary by the end of the contract. Or they would have to switch positions at some point which reduces their value significantly.
I hope the ridiculous rules regarding service time get resolved without a strike/lockout. The best players need to be in the major leagues. I don't blame the Clubs for manipulating service time because the rules give them almost no choice
I don't know. I never really thought the Twins were interested in trading for either of these guys. I don't know what the Pads gave up to get the two pitchers?
The twin should have scored a lot more runs that game. Left a lot of men on base. KC isn't that far away from being a good ballclub. If those young arms pan out, they should be pretty good for a while
Now was absolutely the time for the Thielbar reclamation project. With 3/5 of the rotation on the IL, and the bullpen overused lately - thank goodness Thielbar gutted out nearly 3 innings to everyone else a rest day.
The kid is certainly talented. Once he has a few weeks of video out there, teams will adapt to how they pitch him. Will he then make his own adjustments? If he can do that at age 22, and he can stay healthy, watch out!
