  1. Just don't forget about the shoulder issues and that he plays a very difficult position of shortstop. If Texas can put Profar in any deal they better try it this winter before his stock falls when he is platooning 1st base.
  2. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/profaju01.shtml
  3. I must be missing something here. When did he have big league success? To be honest look at his minor league numbers and tell me when he had success. Sure, he was rated #1 prospect back in 2013 but so was Delmon Young. Throw in his history with shoulder issues and I would pass.
  4. What makes Jurickson Profar so great? Sure, he was a top prospect but has not performed in the majors. From what I recall I think I read that Texas is going to possibly use him in a platoon at 1st base. I would have to pass and would rather go with our current options at short and only trade Santana if we got back a better piece than Profar. Hold onto Santana and deal him in July to a desperate team.
  5. Not sure if anyone else feels the same way that I do but I would love a new pair of Twins broadcasters for 2017. It seems ever since Bert finally got elected to the HOF he has almost turned diva. I know he has HOF obligations to do but he will only be doing like half of the broadcasts this upcoming year. Time for change though, it was a good run!
  6. That Dodger team probably not good enough to get by the Giants. 30 blown saves and Giants added a closer. Dodgers need more than Dozier to be in same group as Cubs & Giants.
  7. Let's all put our thoughts and prayers for Rod Carew that his heart and kidney transplant turn out for the best and he has a speedy recovery.
  8. As long as they don't draft a high school player I am fine with whoever they choose. It would be nice to get a player that could contribute in 2 years or so.
  9. But by saying he nailed it would mean he had all pieces of the trade right. If he would have had the other 2 players named as well at the time he then nailed the trade. By putting a teams best hitter and a one of their top pitchers as what it would take would take no skill it's just guessing.
  10. Did he really nail it or was he given the trade? No offense, but I don't buy into it for a minute. All it takes is a good relationship with a side of the party. One hand washes the other.
  11. Possible leverage play on the part of the Dodgers. Kinsler owed $23M over 2 years. You would expect his agent would ask for an additional 3-4 years. I would be more worried about Tampa putting Logan Forsythe out there.
  12. Kinsler is an option but he will not waive his no trade clause without a contract extension.
  13. In that range. Really don't think a team would care if it was less if they got the home run output. This is not the 80's when people cared for average.
  14. Put him Baltimore and no doubt he hits 20-25 hr easy. The batting average will be in the low .230 range but still productive. For what it's worth I took this as more bottom feeding type of guy and do not think he is a top DH target. Put a lefty with decent power in those AL East parks and you get dingers.
  15. Rajai Davis & Travis Wood would be a nice pair to start out with. Both could be flipped in July for a decent prospect. Trevor Cahill would be a nice bullpen arm as well. If there wasn't already way too many DH types on this team Ryan Howard would be a nice cheap fit for $5M.
  16. I just hope the Twins don't back down and keep their demands high. The Dodgers desperately need to get a right handed bat in that line up. Also, I could not believe it when I heard it on MLB network the Giants blew 30 saves last year and they added a very efficient closer in Mark Melancon to shore up the closer role. To be honest LA needs more than just adding Dozier to try to keep up with the Giants.
  17. 11 home runs last 2 seasons and you want to call that average? If you throw a 2 year $17.5M offer at Rajai Davis you would get him to sign. I would love to have him play left field next season for the Twins. He would hit 10-15 hr's and steal 30-40 bases. That would be a great addition to a young team.
  18. not a buy low guy when owed $17.4M over 2 years I believe.
  19. No teams were interested in Puig at all during the trade deadline. His value is at probably its lowest ever for 2 reasons, look at his stats the last few years and he is a pain to teammates. Sure, you could get him with the part of a better 3rd prospect and hope like hell he performs and does not cause problems. But do you really want to gamble like that when he will be owed $17.4M for the next 2 years? I would have to say pass on Puig.
  20. He would not be a good add to a rebuilding team. The best thing for Puig would probably be a trade to Miami that has a large Cuban fanbase.
  21. They changed that so they could include a player just drafted in 2016.
  22. The next step after hopefully finalizing a deal with the Dodgers is to shore up the defense. Jason Castro will be helpful to the pitchers having a catcher that can frame a pitch. Sadly the defense was not very helpful to the pitchers. This will take a few years and cannot be expected to fixed over night.
  23. Change #4 to a legit 3rd outfielder. As much as I have always liked Eddie Rosario he doesn't seem like the right fit. He still needs much more work to become a starter for a good team. If he could show some discipline at the plate and raise his OBP he could be that guy. When it takes 7 years of playing professionally to draw 209 career walks something has to change. The worst part he hasn't broke 20 hr's since his early minor league years.
  24. Nothing will happen today. Dodgers are most likely focused on resigning either one or both Justin Turner and Kenley Jansen before they make a decision. Jansen just got married and is not in country as well as many of his 2016 teammates including Turner. Maybe by Wednesday something will happen.
  25. Hopefully Seth gets to write it. I enjoy reading his articles.
