  1. Brock really hit the nail on the head there!
  2. A lot of risk here. And while some sites really like both players, fangraphs has been dropping both for a year. We won't know for three years, I'd guess, but it's a very risky profile.
  3. I actually won't be surprised if nothing else happens.
  4. Fangraphs seems ok with the deal, but the article makes Tait sound like a sure thing super star, even though their prospect writer keeps lowering his ranking. It's like they didn't talk?
  5. Soto might pitch one month this year .... I'm not counting on any HS pitcher given the extreme difficulty of developing them. But this three have high ceilings for sure. They might fix Abel. But they gave up multiple years of an elite closer and took on a ton of risk. And at least some of that is three years away, after Ryan and Lopez leave.
  6. Are we also going to look at MLB.com and all their predictions? Look, this trade MIGHT work....but not in the next year or two. And, the TWins are taking all the risk here on it being fair. One player isn't good enough right now to start for Philly, and one is in A ball (A+ as of a week or two ago).
  7. I'd hope they want to work on stuff with him. I was merely responding to someone who said he was on the Twins now. I think Abel has a shot to be a 3.....but he isn't one, not close (or Philly trades him for more or uses him in Philly).
  8. I don't know how to make it 1000000% more clear that I was talking about the catcher?
  9. So much for Falvey fixing all the things to make the Twins better (and this stuff costs nothing compared to a player). I'm wanting new owners and new FO more and more every day.
  10. Here is what I don't like: 1. It doesn't help in the Lopez Ryan window (since they can't hit at all). (it actively hurts the window) 2. The Twins are taking all the risk. The top get is in A ball (just promoted to high A....). Who was dropped from Fangraphs top 100 this week (after being promoted). And, all that risk is 3 years out....the present value on this deal is awful. People really seem to be ignoring the risk factor here.
  11. Weren't we discussing the catchers? That's what I was talking about.
  12. It may or may not be fair .... But it bodes very poorly for the Ryan and Lopez window unless they fix Abel. And even then, they didn't fix the actual problem of zero offense.
  13. This tool is bad for many reasons. Would you trade Duran for 30 guys with a value of one? You also have to assume the tool is right about value. Also, Tait has zero value for three years, unless traded. Does it take into account present value? Value, as we see from contracts, is not linear.
  14. None of those guys will be legit starters in Minnesota for at least three years ... So they still don't have any catchers, three years after overpaying for Vazquez, and won't for at least two or three more ...
  15. Btw, someone said the Mets paid more in their deal? Strong disagree.
  16. Tait is 19.... If you mean Abel, agreed, we don't know yet. But he better be a lot better than anyone is predicting for this to work.
