    Corriea....best SS in al of baseball meets your criteria mostly (well, he played AAA this year, and didn't skip it like Buxton did). Sano, I believe, meets most of your criteria. Go look at the lists if you want to know the answers to your questions, more than you think.

    I think he's an elite prospect that doesn't need to be babied. EVERY other elite prospect from this year's lists is up, and playing. Is every other team wrong, or is Buxton just not that good? I accept that they can keep him down for service reasons, I don't have to like it as a fan.

    Oh boy, another chance to talk about how admiring a HR is somehow disrespectful to the other team and the game...... Twins lost because they aren't as good as the Jays, no complex analysis needed, imo.

    The more I think about it, the more I hate this take. The REAL downside is he's not on the field producing, and now there is a tiny chance they'll start him in AAA next year. That's the real downside, imo.

    I'm with SD Buhr......if you are worried about options on Buxton, this team is in BIG trouble. If they are so worried about 2020 and beyond that they don't put on him on the roster day 1 next year, well, why would anyone buy a ticket from these guys. Try to win, please.

    except for defense and base running, sure......but isn't that true of every player, take away his biggest skill, and he's not worth as much?

    It's not necessarily bad, imo, if what you trade turns out to be great, if you got what you wanted in return. Trades are not a zero sum game, they can help both sides, even if 1 side gets "more" out of it.

    That wasn't the question at all, was it? The premise of the article was that the Twins are doing badly, ergo, standing still was a good idea. If the Twins had won every game since the break, would that have meant they should not make deal? Half the games? What outcomes, produced by the TWINS, would lead the OP and others to conclude that standing still was a bad idea?

    I think it is fair to question trading for Tulo. I think it is BS to say trading for Tulo was only about this year, which some keep typing.
