  1. Twins fans should probably take a closer look at Hunter's performance.......I think saying "all Twins fans like Hunter" is probably not accurate at this point.
  2. Vargas was never a great prospect, I don't think skipping AA was the big issue.....
  3. The cubs just sent Starlin Castro to the minors, after signing a $60MM deal, to call up a rookie. Ryan should make personnel decisions based on people cheering for Hunter winning 1 game, really? You don't think Buxton excites fans?
  4. I'm going to try this one more time: Win Twins.
  5. no more or less likely that the backstop could throw out a base stealer, right?
  6. I agree with Seth's list......which as chief pointed out, is pretty sad. If this wasn't a year to contend, they should have a ton of short term contracts that could be dealt. I'd guess TR didn't agree this was a year not to contend, since he said they would this year.....
  7. Good point......I'd have to look at the schedule, but good point. OTOH, people are saying the Twins should call up x players for September.......so it is some teams.
  8. Great line. Seriously large smile for this one........
  9. Burdi's raw stuff is just too much for this level. Does anyone know if he's working on stuff, or just dominating?
  10. 1. Playing in AAA has no less wear on his injury than in the majors. Saying that somehow he is less likely to get hurt here, or you can swing softer or something.....bunk. 2. Hunter is 39 or 40. He's not good. Since May, he's been AWFUL. There is no reason to argue Hunter is better than Buxton, now, or next year. 3. If your argument is that Buxton won't contribute right away, and that he needs time to adjust.....and you want him to be good next year, he should be doing his adjusting this year, imo. 4. September games are a bad judge of progress...since 1/3 to 1/2 are against AAA players. 5. It is super easy to get Buxton in the game 80% of the time. This is also not a valid reason fro him not to be up. Seem to be a lot of people here think somehow it is stupid, or something, to think this is a bad idea. I'm happy to have that discussion, because I think it is obvious that he should be up now. Also, judging him on 11 games? Ugh.
  11. if we were rational about this, they'd not make so much money......agreed.
  12. Well, they have no catchers......so, ya, nope, no catchers in the OF.
  13. It is also hard to be objective when things are like May......there was an awful lot of chest puffing in late May, early June on this site.....
  14. People come to watch winners, so if they are going to keep him on the roster, he should play about 1/4 the time....imo.
  15. How is saying "he gives us a better chance to win", not saying he was better for that moment? I don't know how else to parse that phrase.
  16. why the bleep did he change again? I don't get it.
  17. Admittedly, not everyone, but a lot of people thought it was worth rolling the die on Hughes......now, rolling the dice on Hughes, Nolasco, and Santana, that was not as popular. Each decision, on its own, might have merit. All three? Not so sure.
  18. Whatever they are trying.......it isn't working with Arcia, unfortunately. I thought he'd be here all year, and be a 105 OPS guy....... I really think moving him out of RF was a bad idea, but I can't prove that caused all this.....nor can I prove sending him down while he was hot caused this, nor can I prove not calling him back up when healthy caused this, but I can wonder.....
  19. I don't think that is a logical conclusion, actually. This is a small sample size, I don't think we can conclude there is a process issue here for sure........
  20. making May a set up guy makes no sense. He's a legit starting candidate. given this is ANOTHER LOST year......he 100% should be in the rotation right now, so they gather more data on him as a starter. Anyone think they will do that?
  21. I was unaware that this SP staff was full of young players.......Sano and Hicks are about the only ones even hitting right now. I'm not sure what you mean.
  22. Not really hindsight, frankly, since many people said it was a bad idea at the time.
  23. Doesn't seem like the younger players are the issue here, does it?
