  1. I turn the radio when Meatsause talks on the rock station, I can't imagine going to an event he is emceeing. Have fun everyone.
  2. Again, thanks, and, I can imagine Rob would like those 20 - 30 minutes back. I actually felt kind of bad for him. Like I said, whether you were behind or not doesn't matter any more......what matters is where you are now, and where you plan to go.
  3. so, 27 before you make him a RP, losing another year of value.......
  4. Who has EVER said a high payroll guarantees a playoff spot? What a straw man.
  5. If they are in the bottom third of payroll forever.....then I wish them luck in being a consistent winner.
  6. How is that whining? He is stating a fact. People are not computers, they like routine, they crave routine, they crave certainty. He was not comfortable with how things went, that's merely reporting how he felt, not whining.
  7. I endorse moving Meyer to RP, but I'd also endorse giving him 2 more months to start. But, if they are moving him to RP full time, I hope they trust him to do it, and let him go and stop monkeying with 3rd and 4th pitches......
  8. Thanks for coming in, Jack. Fair or not, we can only go by what you all make public. It was just a few years ago that your assistant GM didn't even know what some stats were in an interview. That may have influenced some of us to question the organization's commitment to math......However, I think it is clear that things have changed over the years, and the key now is where are you now. I remain hopeful that the organization is using every tool available to improve. Have a great day.
  9. Perkins' health is an area of concern. But, no way I do a 3 year deal for a RP. 1 year, 7-8MM, team option at same rate 2 year, 10-12 MM
  10. I'm ok if the plan is to use the minor league players......but then have the courage to do it, and to stick with them. They didn't have that courage last year with Rogers, or Meyer. There was zero reason for Rogers not to be up last year, as a RP, imo. Will they have the courage to stick with these guys, if they blow a game or two (like any MLB RP does)? If so, then just start with them......
  11. Let's say the RP are mediocre, not bad, but mediocre ..... how dominant would one of the minor league guys have to be to be brought up?
  12. I would not go three years for him, if that's the price, then I say no. But.......other than Rogers, NONE of those guys starts next year here. Are they just going to settle for mediocre for 4-8+ weeks or so? How many games will that cost them? If I had to, I'd go 2 years, but I'd prefer a more expensive 1 year deal. An offer of 1 year, $4MM per year is not an actual offer. It is a PR move "we tried". No way he takes that right now, no way.
  13. Uh, the FA contracts track very close to WAR, what are you saying, exactly?
  14. Wow, that is pretty barren behind Plouffe / Sano. Maybe that is why there is not a trade.
  15. Sure, those things could all fall in place.....it seems unlikely though. I don't see any way he's up to start the year, except that this is his 2nd/3rd option year already.....admittedly, I have a prospect crush on him for some reason.
  16. I don't agree with the projections, especially the rates.....but I also don't have a ton of confidence in some of the Twins to improve. Without looking at the other players, it is hard to say where I'd rank them. Like, is the delta between Rosario and others big, or small, and a small change moves him way up? I have no idea.
  17. I agree with this......it looks like (and it is not a totally unreasonble plan) they are planning to keep the vets, and keep the youth in AA and AAA for depth (Berrios, for example)......while that might be reasonable, it is not likely to put the BEST group of players on the field day 1. Santana and Arcia being out of options really changes things, imo, from putting the best players out there.
  18. Fans almost always say the projections are too low, remember the Mauer screaming the last two years?
  19. I wouldn't deal any at this point. If Polanco and Gordon end up blocking one of the other....then I would. But I don't see that any time soon.
  20. How is this a big year for Polanco? He's destined for Rochester, until someone gets hurt, and he's young. I think this is a make or break year for Beresford and Michael, either they are on the Twins this year, or are gone/filler forever (other than a cup of coffee). But, that's a nit. I agree with all of this other than that part.
  21. I'd try for 2/11,12 for Jepsen. Escobar could get a 2 year deal. No one else on that list should, imo.
  22. Thanks for doing the interview! I think he moves up quickly to AA (in 2 years or so), then we find out what he can/cannot do.
  23. There are lots of other ways "drafts" and FA can co-exist.....but no league wants them because the workers would be paid more.
