  1. There isn't a ton of evidence innings' limits matter........but I guess I'm ok with a limit this year. Next year, I'd want 150, not 120, if there is a limit.
  2. We might have to work out a trade ...
  3. I think those songs are amazing treasures. They perfectly evoke an era and genre.
  4. Whether you like Drake's music or not, he's probably the most well known right now.....As for Rush, let's just say that their appeal is not universal, though I like their music.....there are days I love Arcade Fire, then I hear the same sound over and over, and think "this is a BIT much". Having just looked up Canadian rock band lists on line, I'm not sure who my favourite* would be. Of the soloists, I think I only have owned Alanis Morrissette music.....I hear a lot of recent Bieber stuff when my 19 year old has control over the car music, he knows how to do hooks. Neil Young is probably the best, most importanat, along with Joni Mitchell. I do like Dianna Krall.... * I believe that is the correct spelling for this topic.
  5. Well, Wimmers needs to be on the 40 man or will be a minor league FA this offseason. I think they want the major league coaches to get a look at him, or maybe they want to reward him for his years of struggle by getting him some MLB money and pension and healthcare (or whatever they get). I'm not sure leaving him down or calling him up affects his development at this point.
  6. I don't think aiming for 2017 looks like a necessity anymore.......I'd be happy if they could just accurately identify an actual good MLB pitcher in a trade.....even if that guy was 2-3 years away. That would be a nice baby step.
  7. I don't see anything wrong in their handling of Garver, so far. If he's not up in September, and catching 1/3 of the time, then I'll question their handling of him. But up until now? I think they've handled him well, and it's clear he has worked hard to get better. When he makes the majors, it will be a nice success story.
  8. Congratulations. Many of us are pulling for him.
  9. Gary Sanchez is a MLB starter, not a prospect. He is not being traded.
  10. I can't see Rogers as a MLB starter. He is finally in the right place, imo.
  11. I don't know what people expect, in terms of a rebuild, if you are unwilling to trade the older players to get more prospects. That's what rebuilding teams do.
  12. Mauer is one of the best hitters ever, in terms of BA and walks. The criticism reads a lot like the Votto criticism. To the person who talked about war and ops.....ops is not an advanced stat at all. It is not in war. Has anyone looked at the stats in context of era, other than war? He did pay in an offensive time, mostly. My issue with Joe isn't really with Joe, but those on both sides of the love hate gap that have no nuance in their emotion. He isn't some awesome god, nor is he a devil.
  13. I don't agree. These coaches can gather lots of data about watching players....in practice, in the clubhouse, on the bench, on the field. I know hearing about a co worker is different than working with one.
  14. My plane has an engine leak....hope the mechanics did well in training....
  15. It is the process rebuilding teams follow. He is a free agent in two years, as stated above, if they are not using that money on Sano, Buxton, Berrios, or other young played, keeping him probably did not matter because they are likely bad. If you never trade your good players, you are closing down one way to get better.
  16. I am now on the trade him side. Bad teams need to trade good players to get younger good players, imo. The Cubs are built on trades and great high picks. The twins seem unwilling to really rebuild.
  17. There are nine spots every day....so either they figure out how to rotate players, or they bench players. So far, they are benching players, so Plouffe and Mauer can play. For a terrible team, that seems like doing the opposite, imo.
  18. So, just bench the young guys you need to learn more about? So you can win, what, this year?
  19. Mauer isn't a bench player by 2018? Hmmmmm. I will take that bet.
  20. Must have been in part you didn't quote, my bad...... So Polanco shouldn't play 2B at all? Mauer shouldn't sit some so Vargas or Park can play some 1B?
  21. I don't disagree, but they have guys that have to be on the 40 man next year, those guys will get called up mostly. Do you sit them, or sit the veteran that you have years of data on?
  22. did you read my whole reply? No place did he call for Vielma...... They are probably calling up a Catcher, should he sit, or Suzuki? Why play Escobar or Plouffe in September much if Vargas, Sano, Polanco are all here?
  23. Well, he didn't call for that, did he? He said old veterans don't need to play in September, so the Twins can gather information on the young players that will be called up. If you think playing Santana or Grossman helps this team this year or next year, we won't agree. They have to add both the AAA and AA catcher to the 40 man this off season, why not call one or both up and not play suzuki? I mean, if you are going to argue with someone, argue against what they actually said...
