  1. You might not want to look at league wide stats..... because you just eliminated the majority of MLB players.
  2. I think it was the tone, not the statement.
  3. I mean, you and I likely agree on this, not sure the Pohlads do. We'll find out!
  4. Plans change. I think we are looking at a small payroll next year.
  5. If only Molitor did a few other things differently.....
  6. I agree no manager could win with this year's roster.....
  7. This. I love how Falvey is taking "personal responsibility" by firing the guy he just extended...... In any event, not one young position player (Jeffers?) has really gotten better or stayed good under Rocco. I don't know if that's him or what, but the evidence seems pretty clear at this point. And I actually kind of like Rocco (and he gets a lot of hatred/dislike here over things every other ML manager does, every day).
  8. I am letting Trevor be judged by performance.....it's not good. (I agree with your last point). Larnach is 100% a PH next year, unless Wallner and Martin are gone. They are both better than him, by performance, and cheaper. I guess Larnach could be the starting DH? I guess?
  9. Not to mention Vazquez, who catches.....not that I like him, but there are a few hundred more ABs. But quibbling over 200 or 1000 or 2000 isn't important to me. It's that he's not good, has never been good other than 1 month, and he's likely the starting 1B next year. I hope he explodes in a good way....
  10. Martin outhit him, outran him, and out played him on D. I can't see keeping a $5mm guy around as a pinch hitter. That's the sticking point for me. He's not likely a starter next year, I'd rather that money go to a C or SS or 1B or 1-2 RPs. He's exactly the kind of guy you've railed against signing for the last three years.
  11. agreed on all 3. Other than the SB....no idea, and a lot of luck is needed.
  12. In five partial MLB seasons, he has one over 0.7 fWAR. One (he has really only been full time the last two years). This year he put up 0.2 fWAR. I can't see why they'd pay him to to do that when they have others available. We agree on a lot, especially not letting him play against lefties before....but we definitely disagree here. They aren't winning squat with him a regular, IMO.
  13. Want to echo the thanks for these, Nick. Wasn't always fun, I'd guess, but I appreciate the work!
  14. I think Ryan is a near lock to be traded....because he's worth a lot, and he likely wants out. Hope to be wrong. I am unsure on Lopez. I think they deal him, but I think they might keep him. I keep SWR in the rotation, and let him go 5. League average starts are just barely higher than that anyway. Abel and Bradley are wild cards to me. If they deal both Pedro and Joe, they are locks. Neither has anything to learn or show in AAA......but they also have Zebby and Ober...... I really don't KNOW what this ownership group wants at this point, but if you made me guess, it would be a LOW payroll for a year.....
  15. If I'm Buxton, and the Twins deal both Pedro and Joe, I want out, but MIGHT stay because of MN being a great place to have a family. If they deal one? Unsure......if his family loves being in MN, I'd want to stay for sure. Great place to have a family. If they deal neither? I'm taking that as a commitment to winning next year, and stay.
  16. 19......ugh.
  17. Bad D, bad baserunning, exactly league average hitting, for $5 million dollars........why would they do that? He's pretty much the definition of replacement level. I just don't know why a team with a limited budget would keep him when they have Outman, Roden, Martin, Buxton, Wallner, Gonzalez, Rodriguez, and Jenkins. They can sign a guy like him for less money if they really want to. I'm guessing Outman and Roden are on the 26 man until May of next year (longer if they somehow start hitting). I agree with all the OP names, other than Outman (yuck, but they traded for him).
  18. This is the part KOC needs to work on. He needs to change his ways until they have an OL and experienced QB.
  19. Definitely a concern. But you have to play him..
  20. At least there is no QB controversy.....
  21. If they can, you know, pass block and pass....
