    We think so, good point. Either way, he put up 3.3 WAR in 73 games last year.... So hard to understand not liking that.

    True, he's now a starting CF worth 3-5 WAR....terrible pick of Turner. Oh, and he's in the majors. So, can't tell if serious or not. Also, he could still be their SS, but they have one they like and no CF. He put up 3.3 WAR in 73 games last year, if you think Turner is not a better pick, I don't know what to say, frankly.

    Need three injuries and improved hitting, so, nearly zero, imo.

    I would have had him at shortstop in AAA some, or a lot. I didn't understand then, and I don't understand now. Same as never playing Sano in the outfield, if that was ever considered before last year.

    Too low for me. I see an everyday shortstop with a lot of confidence. Not the greatest pick that year, but a legit shortstop, imo. And yes, people have not adjusted their expectations on batting average.

    I agree, betting their entire slot on one player is a big time bet. I don't argue that at all.

    I'd guess that mid-2018, we see Gordon in MN. Javier is at least 4 years away, I'd guess, maybe 5. By then, who knows where Polanco is?

    or, they could have gone over slot, and signed more players. That's what every other team that went over slot did. It's why so many other teams have so many high upside players in their systems. Giving him $115K more than slot, with no others signed, isn't really going over slot in a way that matters at all.

    To be fair, they didn't go enough over slot for there to be a penalty. They stayed in the margin of "error" as it were. Pretty misleading to imply they actually spent more than their slot, when it came with no penalty at all. On ceiling, this seems about right for a ranking. But we are a long way from knowing if he can take those tools into production. I usually like ranking guys on ceiling, but this seems high to me for some reason.

    No matter how good he is, this is, imo, a great trade by the Twins.

    I did sell some losses last year in an attempt to get our income lower for FAFSA purposes...but I don't think it worked. We'll see.

    Wouldn't surprise me, but how does the tax effect change your thoughts, assuming those are short term holdings, and the wash sale factor? Me? I just keep stuff I want long term....maybe I make a tad less here and there, but it has kept me from making some serious mistakes.

    He won't be working with the Twins' coaches, they won't have control over how he is used......no idea if it is good or bad, but for a team completely changing it's approach to pitching development, and for a guy that had serious control issues, I'd want him in camp, with my pitching coach.

    I agree, unless they really surprise us and compete for a playoff spot, I'd like to see as many of the young players up and given a shot, as possible.
