    I did sell some losses last year in an attempt to get our income lower for FAFSA purposes...but I don't think it worked. We'll see.

    Wouldn't surprise me, but how does the tax effect change your thoughts, assuming those are short term holdings, and the wash sale factor? Me? I just keep stuff I want long term....maybe I make a tad less here and there, but it has kept me from making some serious mistakes.

    He won't be working with the Twins' coaches, they won't have control over how he is used......no idea if it is good or bad, but for a team completely changing it's approach to pitching development, and for a guy that had serious control issues, I'd want him in camp, with my pitching coach.

    I agree, unless they really surprise us and compete for a playoff spot, I'd like to see as many of the young players up and given a shot, as possible.

    I don't know what to make of him, but I'd like them to let him play for 2 months in a row, basically, and gather more data.

    If you want context free offensive measure, pick wRC+ or something.... if you want context, look at win probability measures. That way, you can compare him to other players...... you probably won't like how Mauer compares to other 1B.......

    another part of the list I like, if not LOVE. I think Jorge and Chargois are legit MLB RPs, it's really a question of floor vs ceiling on where you rank them, imo. But those two play in the majors for sure (barring injury, of course). Garver will also play in the majors for more than a cup of coffee. I think Wade is one of those guys that is always under rated. Does everything well, few weaknesses. The ceiling isn't there, but the floor is way up on the 2nd level....I think he plays some MLB ball, just not sure how much. Palka is probably the highest ceiling guy here, but that hole in his swing needs some plugging. for me, the question is also, can he play defense at all (and at 1B or OF)?

    That is a woeful list of prospects, frankly. There weren't many exciting OF prospects either. The FO has some serious work in front of them.

    How do scouts compare their notes to other scouts? Because you are arguing the "stats nerds" can't do that.... I'm not missing your point at all. You are stating something as fact, that the eyeball is better than a stat, when you can't prove that at all. Both are important, but since teams are literally paying GMs and assistants LOADS of money to implement the use of these stats, I'd guess you are wrong.

    Does the old fashioned scout watch every play by every player, so he can do a comparison? Which one, really, is likely to have seen more plays, to do more comparisons?

    I have waffled on Disney for months. I have some, and I sold some at a loss for tax reasons and FAFSA reasons. I know, not helpful.

    Maybe he is. We literally have no idea. Other than him playing 2B in winter leagues (not his choice, the mgr decides that). * *note, I think we are talking about Polanco, it's all a blur now!
